When I opened my eyes the next day, I found myself lying in my mate's scents. They must have been lying in bed for some time to leave behind such a strong smell. I blinked in confusion several times, trying to figure out how they managed to slip beside me without me knowing. Mate or not, as a warrior I always stay alert, even in my sleep. They have to be very light-footed. That or my wolf didn't deem it necessary to alert me and forced my conscious mind into thinking they were no threats. Feeling betrayed, I scowled at my wolf who was unapologetic about the stunt she pulled. The clatter from downstairs caught my attention, and after running my fingers through my hair, I followed the voices. My mates were laughing in the living room, dressed to boots and looking as dashing as ever.
