(Sebastian’s POV)
.
"Oh! Ouch, sorry, Boss! I'll take your shirt to dry cleaning right away."
My stupid new secretary bumped into me just as I walked into my office with my iced Americano. And yes, it caused the coffee spill on my custom-made shirt. White in colour.
What the hell day was it today?
My car broke down halfway under the 40 ℃ day heat; when I finally walked into my building, I quickly got a cup of American to cool off, but before I could enjoy it more, that stupid woman, who thought she could attract me in such a clumsy way, dragged me into a worse situation.
It ruined my day again.
"Boss? I...was really careless, please forgive me." She was still on the ground, looking up at me while she batted her eyelashes. Giving me a pitiful expression, she thought she would get my attention.
The top buttons of her already went missing, showing her full breasts. A beautiful view, to be honest.
I smirked at her. She'd better show me her boobs in a bar instead of my office. I'm not a horny boss that she thought I was.
The reason I could own this multi-million-dollar building is not only due to my family identity but also my strict demand about work. I do not mix work with pleasure.
Being my employees, they had to remember my rules well. If anyone dares to challenge it, they will be fired by me. No matter who they are.
"Go to the HR office, you're fired!" I said with gritted teeth trying hard not to make a big scene out of it. My days were already hellish.
I didn't hide the impatience in my voice and ignored her grabbed my pant leg, begging me. "Boss, I apologize. Please give me one..."
Ah! This woman!
"Security! Take her off." I yelled at the door and the security rushed to drag her out.
"No! Please..." Her screaming was so loud that all the building could hear. At that point, I didn't care at all. It would be better that every staff member could remember this scene and just drop other stupid plans like that.
What I valued in my company was their brain, not their breasts. Or whatever under their skirt.
"Hey, man, aren't you being too irritable today? What a pretty woman, I can’t believe you just let them drag her away..." Westin Strauss, my cousin came into my room uninvited, as usual.
Annoyed at him most of the time but I loved this guy anyway. He was family.
“I have a lot of work here, Westin. Whatever you want, make it quick.” I cut his nonsense while signing a bunch of documents placed on my table.
"Bastian, you need a real girlfriend. A sexy woman to make love to every night. Come on, man, get your hormones balanced and don't turn into a grumpy old guy."
Old guy? I frowned at him. 32 of age, was far from being old.
"Westin, three minutes. If you only have nonsense like that, I'll let my security throw you out like that woman." I said impatiently.
The security got ready immediately at my words, and Westin raised his hands to assure. "I'm here because of your son Samuel. The little boy said he couldn't reach you..."
I glanced at my phone at once, damn! It was turned off. I walked quickly to charge it.
Westin shook his head and said helplessly: "Bastian, Samuel is still a child, what he really needs is not your wealth but your company. Or a woman that he call a mother"
I knew Westin was telling the truth but at the same time, I was still the boss of this company. There were thousands of employees relying on me for their salary.
Looking at the photo with my son on my desk, I couldn't help but soften my poker face. I loved my son, even though I still had no idea which of my bed partners gave birth to him.
Yes, 7 years ago, my little boy was left at the gate of my family’s mansion.
The only note left was the boy’s birth date.
Also, the note stated that the boy was mine. Of course, I had freaked out. I never liked children. They were ugly little monsters created to ruin your life.
After testing his DNA, it proved that the baby was indeed mine. I had it tested several times after. Different doctors. Different Hospitals. Took me awhile to realise I had fathered that boy.
The man I was 7 years ago had countless women warming my bed. I didn't even know their name or remember their face. Yet there was no sign of any woman coming to claim the boy was hers since then.
Not even one.
Coming from a prestigious family with money and power, I could do anything to find who gave birth to my son.
But, it seemed not easy when the person did not want to be found at all.
My parents divorced when I was young and they both cared much more about themselves. What they left for me was only money. The name Strauss was a privilege to have.
Though at first it was really a disaster for me to take care of a baby, my son slowly became the only one precious to me in my lonely f*cked up life. That little monster of mine had melt my cold heart.
Samuel was my everything and I would protect him with my life. No one could ever take him away from me.
“You don’t have to wait for me. I’ll get my driver to pick me up.” I then saw a text coming in my phone and again I exhaled in annoyance.
“Your fiancée looking for you again?” Westin mocked me again.
I glared at him as he was knowingly asking. The engagement with Suzanne was never what I wanted.
8 years ago, I was photographed naked with her in a hotel. With that, she once tried to control me, but failed.
She was supposed to disappear from my life, like my other one-night stand partners did, but things changed 2 years later.
My Samuel accidentally got injured and needed a blood transfusion. Coincidentally, Suzanne had matched his blood type.
I had doubted she was Samuel's mother and even took her hair to do the paternity test secretly, but it showed they were not.
The doctor said that Samuel was too weak and even needed blood transfusions regularly when necessary. Suzanne was a good choice but she wouldn't take it for free.
So, I agreed to the engagement with her and even helped expand her family business. A lot of money spent with very little return. I wondered at times where the money had gone to.
The reason I kept postponing the wedding date was that my Samuel never liked her, or even he was a little hostile towards her.
I had tried to find the reason but every time I mentioned Suzanne, my boy turned unhappy and refused to talk.
I had to put the issue on hold first.
Signing the last paper, I glanced at my cousin, "Mind your own business! It is my life and I decide what I want to do, Westin."
As I was about to walk out, my assistant Nigel rushed in in panic.
"What happened?" I asked as I frowned. Nigel was always a composure man, which helped him to be my longest-term helper.
It was rare to see him so tense. He was out of breath with the colour of his face turning pale.
"Boss, it's that case of malicious defamation." Nigel replied, making Westin confused.
"Aren't we going to win soon?" Westin asked but I could feel something wrong from Nigel's solemn face.
"Make it more clear." I nodded at Nigel seriously.
“Yes, we were supposed to win soon.” Nigel took a deep breath. I sensed trouble, "But we just got the news that they had connected to Akira West."
"Akira West? That undefeated lawyer?" Westin exclaimed while Nigel nodded like a headless chicken. He then continued.
"Yes, we also have contacted Ms. West many times but she explicitly rejected our invitation."
Well, that did not sound good. I ran my fingers over my blonde hair that was much in need of a haircut.
"So, she rejected us but turned to reply to our opponent?" I sneered. Playing hard to get was she not.
"Didn't you tell her clearly what we could offer her?" I glared at Nigel and wanted a reason.
No one could beat Strauss with money or power. I could give her as much as she wanted.
"It doesn't seem to be about money." Nigel wiped his cold sweat, obviously realising that I was unhappy with the result.
"Then what's it? Get to the point, Nigel!" I questioned him in a stern voice.
"We...we still don't know." Nigel lowered his voice, "This may need to be handled by you personally."
Damn useless. That's why I always didn't have enough time with my son having assistants that could not meet my expectations.
"Tell Samuel I'll take him to buy the best violin in three days." I told Westin, my cousin. I was sorry I couldn't be with my little boy again tonight.
I had to solve this troublesome lawyer first.
"Book me a flight." I ordered Nigel, "I'll go and meet this Akira West. Where ever she is.”
I turned around and saw both Nigel and Westin staring at me like idiots, “Go find out! What are you waiting for?"
No one had ever rejected my offer. I would ensure Akira West will bow to my demands.
