Chapter 21:
The bandages covering Vitolo’s head came off with the hood. Thankfully, the old man kept both eyes closed. Flavio did his best to fight the binds, but he hadn’t the strength to burst from them.
“Just let them go. They have nothing to do with this!” Geo shouted.
Waganari spread his arms wide. “Listen, I know you think you are invincible, but I’ll sacrifice every last one of you to call Vida.” He pointed directly at Thaddeus. “My followers will line up for the chance to serve me next.”
“A person who keeps trying the same thing and failing is insane. This will never work. Why would one goddess listen to your pleas for help when God has forsaken you?” Thaddeus doubted logic would work on the crazy bishop, but he needed to try something.
“Then I will die trying.” Waganari close
