Aramis Bronx Davina
My hands are probably sweating after we locked eyes with each other, my lips immediately formed into a half-smile before waving my hands at him.
"It is you," he smiled before reaching out to kiss the back of my hand, "A pleasant afternoon indeed, I'm delighted to be with your presence as of this moment," he let go of my hand, which made me smile.
I hope all men in this world are as gentlemanly as this guy, "T-Thanks," I greeted back and immediately bowed my head because he's a Lord, "I'm sorry for not bowing sooner," I mumbled, so he just chuckled.
"You can greet me to whatever you are comfortable with milady," he sounded so sincere, so my eyes widened at his response.
"Are you sure you're okay with me talking like this?" I unbelievably asked, so he nodded before giving me a bright smile.
"Yes, and may I ask what are you doing here at this hour?" he curiously asked, so I flinched before scratching the back of my head.
"U-Uh, I sleepwalk from our quarters from here," I lied and nervously chuckled, so he stopped for a moment before looking at me intently.
"I-I apologize milady, but I'm afraid that's the first time I've heard that word," he sounded like he's sincerely apologizing, so I laughed.
"You're a funny guy, um sleepwalk involves getting up and walking around while in a state of sleep, do you understand now?" I explained simply, so he just nodded at me.
"I see, that's odd...I didn't know that kind of ability existed," he commented, which almost made me want to roll on the floor and laugh.
"T-That's not an ability, it's actually a sickness," I tried so hard to contain my laughter, but obviously failed on that.
"How come it is a sickness? Being able to walk while you're asleep is something worth gloating," he wondered, so I snorted before laughing and was about to say goodbye to take my leave when I heard lots of murmuring coming from the ground floor of the staircase. Nobles!
"Shoot! Shoot! They can't find out that I'm here! They'll probably think I'm stealing or something!" I panicked and was about to run somewhere when he grabbed my wrists and pulled me inside of a room near the staircase.
I held my breath for a moment after we heard those numerous voices talking formally with each other.
"I heard two guards met their demise last night, someone told me they were beheaded," one of the nobles from the outside said, which made my eyes widen.
"That's been the talk through breakfast and dinner," Romel shared and I remained eavesdropping on the nobles' conversation.
So what happened last night was really real? Who on earth saved me then? Why was I here? Was I saved by a noble or something?
"Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think those were the two guards that were defeated by the bedridden warrioress right?" someone asked, they're taking their time walking in those halls huh?
"Indeed they are, that woman probably paid someone to do this to them," the other noble claimed, which almost made me want to go outside, but I was restrained by Romel who's busy shushing me.
"B-But I didn't do anything like that," I whispered, so he just nodded at me before squeezing my wrists.
"I know, you don't have to explain yourself and I for one think they deserved what happened," he mumbled, which made my eyes widened.
I didn't know that this sweet guy can be brutal sometimes. My eyes took their time to examine where we are right now.
This is like a guest room of the palace I think? There's a bed that's probably being cleaned up every single day, the shelves and cabinets in elegant colors are complimenting the colors of the whole room making it aesthetically pleasing in the eye.
"Don't be foolish, Reygar. A peasant like her can't afford to pay someone to do that," someone disagrees, so I nodded in agreement with that guy.
"We might never know that she probably did that herself," the one who disagreed added, which made me glare at that door.
"Calm yourself down milady, we don't want them to find you," he whispered, so I just sighed and nodded at him.
"We should also be wary of her, did you see how she killed that beast on the desert island? No normal lady can do that even with brute strength," someone mumbled, which immediately got my interest. How did they know about that?
"I'm going to agree with you here, we have to do something about this," one of them said, so my eyebrows furrowed.
"What are they talking about?" I whispered, but Romel just shrugged and he looks like he's getting wary of them too.
We waited several minutes and those nobles continued talking about their riches and some people that they want to befriend.
I wonder how long we're going to stay here until we bore out in their silly conversations.
"I think I should get out and get them distracted, you can sneak behind our back and run downstairs after I said the words this way," he suggested, so I curiously peered at him.
"Y-You're really that willing to help me?" It sounded like I was not believing him, but he just smiled at me before patting my head.
"Anything for the woman who took my interest," he grinned before walking towards the door, he took one last glance at me after turning the doorknob.
Who took his interest? What am I now? A subject? I just shook my head.
"Are you ready?" he asked, so I just nodded and went towards his side to hide beside the door.
After I did that, he opened the door and immediately closed it from his back, "A pleasant afternoon dear nobles," he greeted from the outside and it looks like he interrupted the conversation they were having.
"Lord Romel Calypso, what are you doing inside that room?" one of the nobles asked from the outside that made me nervous. He's a Lord?
"Just taking some room ideas as I want to have those kinds of interiors back at my place," Romel immediately responded, I didn't know that he's so good at this.
"I guess you have all taken your lunch?" he added, and some of the nobles probably nodded at him.
"As a matter of fact, we already did take it just now and you should too, Lord Romel," they offered.
"I already had mine earlier, care to join me on the stroll at the balcony? It's this way," he politely asked, so some of the nobles agreed with him. That's my cue!
"Sure, it won't hurt to walk a bit," the other agreed as I heard their footsteps receding from the halls, so I slowly opened the door and it creaked open.
I popped my head out of the small space and when the coast was clear, I went out and ran on the staircase as quickly as I could.
My breathing hitch after I reached the quarters, that's when I realized that I have to explain things to my friends here.
Are they worried sick about me? After I opened the door, some of the warrioress wasn't there and I immediately went inside of our room.
Thanks to Lord Romel I'm safe and sound back in my room, without him I'm probably doomed and will be found out by some nobles.
I'm really that lucky sometimes huh? I noticed that the quarters were empty, they're all probably training on the grounds which is an advantage for me.
"Good, I can tell them that I was feeling over the moon and went to look for healers overnight and passed out on the hallways," I nodded, trying to cheer myself that it was a good but lame excuse.
I bit my lip after laying down on my bed. What happened last night was still fresh to me, but I can't do anything about it anymore.
Those guards died by someone who saved me last night, and how did I freaking end up in that room with the King coming to greet me?
I stood up and looked for that book and noticed that it was gone, "Where did that book go? I distinctly remember that I just put it here," I muttered to myself and tried to look around only to notice that it's in the bed of Loane.
"Did I accidentally put it here?" I shook my head and just decided to grab and check what happened to me last night.
I groaned in frustration after realizing that the book only defined my savior as a brooding hot stranger, what the hell?
This book also didn't tell me how I ended up in that room a while ago, this is making me lose my damn mind.
Shaking my head, I hid that small book underneath my pillow and decided to close my eyes to recollect what I should remember and beware about.
A wave of exhaustion hit me after relaxing on my bed. All I did ever since I got here is to fight for my life, survive a freaking famine, and someone's after my dignity.
The people here won't even let me take a break! I just sighed when I remembered that I'm probably some protagonist inside a story or game where I need to survive on my own.
And I have no other choice but to be involved in these challenges or else my parents here in this world would be beheaded.
Everything is starting to get more difficult, I'm just glad that my emotional state here isn't worse than what I was back there in my past life.
I wonder if my mom is alright? It's been weeks, I'm probably cremated by now. I bitterly smiled and felt a tear streaming down to my cheeks. I have to be strong for her too here.
Wiping those tears away, I tried to forget everything for a moment and closed my eyes, sleep is the only thing that can comfort me right now.

"Aramis...Aramis! Wake up!" someone's calling and shaking my shoulders violently. I groaned and slowly opened my eyes and saw Dahlia, Loane, and Thalia towering over like I'm some mysterious phenomenon.
"W-What is it? Can't you see I'm sleeping?" I softly asked before raising my body from that bed, I slowly tilted my head at them.
"How can you say things like that when we're worried sick about you?! You were gone for almost a day!" Dahlia continued shaking my shoulders while harassing my precious ears.
"She's right, you were gone last night, where were you?" Loane worriedly asked, "And there's an issue going around right now that two guards were beheaded last night at the quarters of the castle guards," she added, which instantly made me wide awake.
"U-Uh, I sleepwalk from the palace?" I mumbled, hoping that I could convince them, but they just furrowed their eyebrows at me.
"You know what guys? Never mind that and lock the door," I ordered before raising my head to them, "I have something disturbing to tell you," I added, they were reluctant to follow me at first, but eventually they did.
After they locked the doors, they sat comfortably on the floor while Loane sat on the bed beside me.
"You see guys, I-I was kidnapped last night," I whispered, and their violent reactions made me cover my ears.
"W-What?!" they all shouted in unison, so much for keeping this meeting secluded and quiet.
I just nodded and started narrating what happened to me last night, all of them looked at me with worry as they hugged me instantly.
"Aramis, I'm so sorry to hear that, we didn't know that's what happened to you last night," Dahlia broke her hug to me while gripping her hands.
"That's so awful, I can't believe I'm saying this but, I'm glad that they were beheaded by that stranger, didn't you see his face even for a swift glance?" Thalia asked, but I just shook my head at her.
"It was really dark that night and after he took me somewhere I don't know, I woke up probably in the infirmary of this palace," I replied, so they furrowed their eyebrows from my statement.
"Who could that be? He's the one who beheaded those guards and saved you, do you have relatives at the palace?" Dahlia curiously asked, which made me laugh together with Thalia and Loane.
"Right, she's a peasant like us, remember?" Loane tried so hard to compose herself but failed at doing so as she burst into laughter.
"Oh right," Dahlia pouted, which made me laugh before sighing.
"Aside from worrying about that stranger, we also have to prepare for the next challenge in two days," Loane suddenly announced, which made my eyes widen.
"What?!" I almost screamed, so they all just sighed at me.
