Aramis Bronx Davina
After we hung our wet clothes last night, we all decided to rest and prepare for the last building of our boats for tomorrow.
I'm slightly anxious if I'll finish it or not, but I have to or I'll instantly kill myself from that challenge.
We quickly went into the sprinklers, slipped into our training clothes, and ate breakfast quickly in the breakfast hall since we all wanted to finish our boats that fast.
After we arrived at the castle grounds, almost all of the warrioress there were busy finishing their sheets, ropes, and their bases.
I also heard that we don't have any chances of letting our boat float on its own, so this is critical and we have to finish it as soon as we can.
"Hey! Where's your base?" Dahlia worriedly asked as she cleaned and threw some leaves away from our boats where we last put them.
"W-What do you mean?" my heart felt like it was being pricked upon hearing that my base was missing, this is what I'm worried about after leaving these unfinished creations here.
"Is it really gone there?" Thalia solemnly asked, so Dahlia frowned before nodding at us. I bit my lip and idly stood in a space where I could see them three properly.
Thalia and Loane looked around together with Dahlia, but they all stopped when they noticed a pile of destroyed wood near the tree.
"No, how could they do this?" Dahlia gripped her hands and moved to check those woods, "These are the woods that Aramis sawed herself," she sounded like she's about to lose her cool.
Thalia and Loane worriedly looked at me as I exhaled out a lungful air and just decided to grab some woods.
"Aramis, where are you going? We have to report this!" Dahlia complained, which made me stop before sighing.
"What can we do about it? I kind of expected this since everyone here seems to have bad blood with me," I gripped my hands, their eyes hinted with worry and pity.
"No, let's at least report this," Dahlia mumbled while pacing back and forth, she looked bewildered that someone really did this to me.
"Look at the woods left!" Dahlia pointed at the slightly missed woods and some of them have a termites trail in them, "Those aren't durable or even decent enough for building a boat!" she complained.
"Dahlia's right, let's try to report it okay?" Thalia agreed with Dahlia, "Look the Captain and some nobles just arrived, let's go and tell them," Thalia dragged me towards there as Loane and Dahlia followed us from behind.
The Captain looked at our presence approaching the center of the grounds, "Captain," the four of us bowed before meeting his eyes again.
"We have to report that someone destroyed her base," Thalia firmly reported as she pointed at me as she held her stand in the center.
The Captain closed his eyes like he was expecting to hear reports like this, "Apologies ladies, but there's nothing we can do about this," he looked disappointed as he roamed his eyes around the castle training grounds.
"You just have to work on building a new one, we don't hold this mess," the Captain sounded apologetic, so I lowered my gaze and sighed.
"But Captain! The woods that were left there had moss or termites in them! There's no way she can build something nice even if she stays up late! The competition is tomorrow!" Dahlia almost raised her voice.
I reached towards her shoulders to at least calm her down, the Captain just shook his head and sighed, "I'm sorry, but there's really nothing we can do about this, you'll just waste time if you look for the culprit," he replied, which absolutely makes sense.
Some of the warrioress heard what we reported and started whispering that what happened to me was awful, but on the other side where the richtians were placed looks like they're sniggering towards what they heard.
I gripped my hands because I was expecting that some people here wouldn't do that despite how cruel the competition was, but someone proved me wrong.
"Excuse me, but may I have a word?" we all glanced at Romel err...Lord Romel Calypso in his newly elegant robes with a bright smile plastered on his face.
"What is it, Lord Calypso? We're just finishing a discussion here," Captain bowed, so Romel just raised his hands.
"I want to offer Lady Davina some woods if I can since one of our businesses here are woods, a variety of rare furniture, and for building houses," he smiled, so some of the nobles gasped and warrioress behind our backs.
I felt a slight nudge from my friends on the side like they're also surprised by what they heard.
"Preposterous! That's called cheating if I view it myself!" some of the nobles commented, but Lord Romel just looked at them intently.
"There aren't any rules that we can't provide help towards these ladies, plus I'm interested in how this next challenge goes," Lord Calypso firmly added, which shut some nobles up.
"What do you say, Captain Herald?" Lord Romel batted his eyes at the captain of the warriors and royal guards.
"But Lord Calypso...I-I,"
"Captain Herald, I'm doing this at my own will. We all want our warrioress to have a fair fight on the next challenge don't we?" he cut off Captain Herald before glancing at me, which made me flinch.
"If that's what you wish Lord Calypso, I wouldn't mind allowing these warrioress to come and grab it with you," Captain Herald bowed at Romel, so he just smiled as he looked at us intently.
He focused his eyes on me, "Well, if you ladies don't mind we can fetch it on the main gate, just in time since the King requested some of it from me, I can always ask someone to get something again for him," he shyly informed us, so Thalia, Loane, and Dahlia bowed their heads at him.
"We're grateful for your offer of help Lord Calypso, can you allow us to go with her?" Thalia said before forcing my head to bow.
Lord Calypso gracefully chuckled, "I wouldn't mind, now let's go, ladies, time is running," he reminded us and started walking away from the grounds as we followed him.
We maintained a decent far distance from his back as my companions here started to tease me, "Oh my God! Lord Calypso offered to help you!" Thalia squealed that only our group could hear.
"Do you know what that means Aramis?" Dahlia looks excited, so my face scrunches up in confusion.
"That he's a good person from the rest of the nobles here?" I answered, so she just shook her head and sighed.
"No! He's interested in you Aramis! We might never know, maybe you'll be the first one who's getting pulled out here!" she added, so I flinched remembering that I was there when he talked to the King about it. Shoot! I almost forgot about that!
Will I be prepared to answer him now that I know that someday or maybe even tomorrow, he might ask and expect an answer from me?
"I-I don't know, I'm not ready to leave these challenges with you guys still here," I admitted, so they shook their heads at me.
"I wouldn't worry if Lord Calypso was going to be the one to pull you out of these challenges, he's much more fit for being King," Thalia bitterly said, which made Dahlia chuckle.
"She's right, I've also heard how nice one of the Lords here is and I think it's him," Dahlia giggled, which made me shake my head.
"Shush you girls, he might hear you," I whispered as we looked at Lord Calypso behind his back. He's walking confidently in the enormous halls
"Hey, you've been quiet since yesterday, did something happen?" Thalia suddenly brought up and she's looking at Loane who almost jumped and sighed.
"I-I'm fine, just feeling a little under the roof," Loane admitted and she looked distressed about something.
"If there's something wrong Loane, don't hesitate to tell us alright?" I suggested before smiling at her, so she just sighed before nodding.
"Of course I will, for now, let's focus on how we can manage to finish all of our boats," she mumbled, so we all stopped realizing that we're all still not done yet.
"Crap! We have to go back there quickly!" We ran and matched Lord Calypso's pace as he guided us towards the main entrance.
After we arrived there, Lord Calypso ordered his people to get more back for the Kings as we four busied ourselves to grab some stuff for mine and their boats.
"Aramis! We'll go back there first! Don't forget to grab as many as you could okay?" Dahlia ordered, so I just nodded and let them leave as I carried some woods like it was nothing to me.
"Your strength really is remarkable Lady Davina," I almost flinched after hearing his voice, it's soothing to hear in my perspective.
"U-Uh thanks? This is nothing Romel err...Lord Calypso," I mumbled, so he just chuckled at my response.
"I said you can call me whatever you want," he stated before moving towards my side, "Shall I help you?" he asked, so my eyes widened while shaking my head.
"No, giving this to us is enough Romel, you've done too much so thank you," I bowed my head and I almost flinched when he patted it.
"This is nothing milady, I would be more willing to offer more help aside from this," I raised my head after he said those words, he's looking at me intently which made me uncomfortable.
Romance wasn't part of my vocabulary or even other terms related to that, so whatever this is, I feel sorry for not being inviting.
I'm really sorry, I really suck at this kind of area unless they're part of Mystic Messenger then yeah, I'm good.
"T-Thank you, let's head back, time is running and I only have a day," I reasoned out, which he immediately understood as we paced the spacious hallways.
Thankfully, he was asking basic questions that I can answer so easily while we're on our way back. He looks interested in my back story and of course, I told him limited things.
I found him cute because whenever I say something unknown to him, his face will scrunch up in confusion or pout as he tries so hard to think of it.
"If it's not that rude or making you uncomfortable, what's your ideal man milady?" he asked, so I peered at him before thinking of Mystic Messenger.
"Maybe someone like Jumin Han in my otome game," I sighed while missing those hunks of mine, "They're making my day worthwhile," I mumbled, and I didn't realize I've said something unknown from this world.
"Otome game? I'm sorry milady but, may I ask what is that?" I flinched after he asked that question, shoot! I slipped again!
"I-I...that's um," how am I going to escape this mess? I should scold my mouth for spouting things unknown to them!
"Well, I'm generous enough to provide breakfast, a place to sleep and wash your clothes and this is what I get?" We stopped after hearing that deep serious voice and was astounded upon seeing the King with lots of knights and guards behind his back.
"Your Majesty, a pleasant morning to you, I hope you had a wonderful rest," Romel bowed his head and I remained glaring at that King who's busy staring at me intently.
I can hear some of the guards murmuring that I lack respect. Who cares when I'm facing this Demon-like King?
"Oh it's you, morning," I tried to sound deeply disappointed seeing him this early and left but was stopped when he grabbed my shoulders by force.
"Hold on warrioress," he firmly said, still grabbing my shoulders.
"H-Hey! Let me go! I have to build my boat!" I complained, but the King didn't mind me as he stared at me and Romel who's still bowing his head.
He looks like he wants to figure out something or is he anxious? I just shook my head.
"What's going on here? Why are you in this place when you're supposed to be building a boat?" he curiously asked as he remained in his cold, stoic face.
"Her own base was sabotaged and I offered to help, Your Majesty," Romel explained before raising his head.
The King immediately understood what he meant and let my shoulders go as he glanced at his guards. "Help this woman go back to the grounds," he ordered, which made my eyes widen.
"Hey! I can do this on my own!" I argued, but he didn't mind me as he pointed at the guards to grab those woods Romel was holding.
"I'll not allow you to burden my guests," he raised his eyebrows, which made me scoff. The nerve of this guy! He's really pushing me to my limits!
To be continued...
