"Rose, it's starting to become dark". Grey Darkmoon, Rose's mother, yelled from the pack house's entrance, "Time to come inside. Rose apologized while glancing at her friends. "Guys, I have to leave. I should come inside; my mother wants me to," she said. "Do you have to?" Hazel, Rose's best friend scowled. "We were only getting warmed up!" Lily continued, her expression displaying her displeasure. Next, Violet added, "Yeah, we were going to play hide-and-seek." Rose felt bad for stopping her enjoyment early. "I'm sorry; I know. But my mother wants me inside," she added. "We'll see you tomorrow, it's all right" Hazel attempted to uplift her friend by saying with a smile. Rose said goodbye to each of the other kids when they nodded in agreement. Her mother was waiting inside, so she went there next. "Hello, darling. Did you enjoy yourself outside?" Grey asked. Rose smiled brightly.
"Yes, it was fantastic! After playing tag, we are about to go and play hide and seek."
"I'm sorry I had to call so early, honey. However, you know how crucial it is to complete your homework," Grey replied regretfully. "No worries, Mom. I understand. Rose comforted her, beaming up at her mother,
"I can play with them tomorrow."
Grey made a sweet ruffle in her daughter's hair. "Good girl, Go ahead and complete your schoolwork; I'll see you at dinner."
Rose nodded quickly before going to her desk to do her schoolwork. Though she was a little upset that she had to leave her friends so soon, Rose appreciated her time outside because she knew her mother had her best interests in mind. She couldn't help but be enthusiastic because of the fun she and her pals would have tomorrow.
Rose was concentrating on her homework when she suddenly felt two powerful arms encircle her from behind. As she turned, the pack beta, her father, Aiden, came home after completing his pack duty. "Hey there, my little Rose," Aiden whispered, kissing her forehead and lightly teasing her hair. "How's my girl doing?" Aiden asked. Rose laughed, enjoying the presence of her father. "Dad, I'm doing fine. How did your work go? Aiden answered with a smile, "It was very unremarkable. I did, however, bring you something. He handed Rose some candies after taking a bag of sweets, Rose received the bag with excitement in her eyes. " Wow, thanks a lot, Dad! Can we eat them now?" Aiden smiled at her excitement.
"Once you've completed your homework you can have them, my little girl. But don't worry, I'll assist you with your home work"
Rose grinned, appreciative of her father's assistance. Grey called them for supper as they finished her schoolwork. They all sat at the same table, sharing meals and exchanging daytime stories. Aiden entertained Rose with tales of his werewolf adventures and some of the fascinating things he had witnessed while living outside of the town. Rose paid close attention as she absorbed his stories.
Later that evening, Rose prepared for sleep. Aiden joined her in her bedroom and continued to tell her stories as she dozed off feeling content and cherished. Aiden and Grace kissed Rose's forehead and cheeks and smiled when seeing their sweet pie.
Grey was unintentionally awakened in the middle of the night by sounds. Her senses on high alert, she sat up in bed and soon noticed that the front door was being banged on. The sounds also awakened Grey's daughter Rose, as the disturbance grew louder by the minute. Rose rubbed her eyes and glanced around the room to discover several strangers standing in their bedroom.
The pack's Alpha, Fenris Blackwood, yelled at Aiden as he stood confused and accused, "You bastard, how dare you kill our celestial highness(King of all Alphas in that territory)." Grey and Aiden didn't understand what the Alpha was saying or why they were being held responsible for such a crime.
"Fenris, I stayed at your side the entire time. What are you referring to?" Aiden protested, his confusion evident, "I never harmed Marcus.
"You have no right to call me Fenris. For you, it's Alpha. Fenris said the moment you killed Marcus, you lost my respect and my friendship, as he seized Aiden by the collar and dragged him outside. When Grey and Rose followed them outdoors, the other pack members gave them hostile looks.
Aiden was beaten ruthlessly with sticks by the crowd as they attacked him. Despite being outnumbered and outgunned, he bravely battled back. Even though Grey was sobbing and attempting to stop them, they pushed her aside and kept beating Aiden, paying no attention to the fact that he was one of their own.
Rose screamed, "Daddy," as she helplessly watched her father get pounded to a pulp. The pack appeared to have made up its mind while she prayed to the moon goddess for salvation.
Alpha Fenris abruptly told his soldiers to cease beating them. He shouted, "Stop everyone!" and the crowd became silent. Fenris said, "We must hang him in front of everyone," and the rest of the group applauded. The group thought that it was justice to Highness Marius.
"Alpha, there might be some mistake. Please spare my mate."
Grey begged, falling on her knees.
Grey begged Alpha Fenris to spare Aiden as Rose was in shock. The Alpha, who was unmoved, is then ordered to pull Grey and any other members of Aiden's family out of the place.
She pleaded for Aiden's life while Grey was being forcibly removed from the area, but her cries were ignored. After losing his beta title, Aiden hung from a rope, fighting for his life until he died. Grey collapsed to the ground and perished with Aiden, because she could not bear to lose her partner. When Rose was left alone, her world suddenly came crashing down.
Rose's life changed drastically at that point. Her family's reputation was permanently damaged by the charges and the harsh punishment that was administered, and she was shunned by the pack and treated like a slave. Although the pack had deceived themselves into believing they were working in the interests of justice, they had actually committed a grievous evil. They had shown no regret for their deeds.
