All morning Duncan watched the knights and squires around him, wondering who Aaron had been with when he spied upon them.
It might not be his business, but curiosity was killing him. He knew already Aaron’s lover was not Sir William, Sir Godfrey, or Sir Magnus. Unfortunately, that didn’t narrow the field of prospective lovers very much. Sir William had a large army of knights and soldiers, and most of them had squires to attend to them.
He hoped Aaron would make it easy for him and stare openly at whomever he’d been with, but alas, his fellow squire paid attention only to his own knight, Sir Magnus. Still, Duncan spent a bit of time surveying Magnus just to be sure he hadn’t been mistaken. But, nay, Magnus was indeed too thick around the middle to have been the one bending Aar
