Chapter 10: Dusty, Gone A new day. Sunshine. Lots of it. I heard robins outside the motel room. I listened to traffic. Everything changed to blue. Baby blue. The perfect day. The most beautiful day. I went to see Dusty, but he had already checked out. Gone. Gone. I missed him already. I had fallen in love with him and didn’t know why. Everything I had fallen in love with vanished from my world. Loss. There was always loss. I didn’t know why. Everything. Everyone. * * * * I entered the room and looked around. Clean. An unused look. Shower dry. Mirror spotless. Garbage bag in bathroom tied closed. Bed made. Towels folded and placed on closed toilet. Remote control neatly positioned on single nightstand. Floor-to-ceiling blinds open, letting sun into the room. So tidy. So clean. D
