Morgan stared at the water where Cora had disappeared, waiting to see if she would surface. But the sea witch was gone, deep into the waters of the cove. Something soft brushed against her ankles, making her jump. Looking down, she found Misty staring back at her. “What do you think? Was that a truce, or a warning?” Misty’s hiss answered the question, and Morgan assumed her answer was a warning. Bending down, she scooped the kitten in her arms and looked into the unblinking eyes staring back at her. “Yeah, that was definitely a warning.
