That night back home in the apartment, Lynney ended up sufferring a long sleepless night. It appeared that her sunken mood was so low being worried about Specky that in a long time, she did not have the desire to take coffee to ease her feelings. In spite of Mrs Dawson being around, she was too tired and sleepy having driven more than three hours earlier that day from Hampton to Sommerville that she could not stay up late to at least chat with her wide-awake daughter. Thus, in her own room, Lynney could not help but keep looking over the cherry blossom photos which Mrs Dawson had taken of her and Specky together at the park along with the previous ones she had taken of Specky herself. The little one-year-old bun was such as pure sweetheart that brought smiles to her face despite the doubts and concerns that lasted throughout the night...Fortunately, stuffed bunny Rolleen by her side was sufficient enough to prevent the tears from flowing again...After saving and experimenting with creating some cute wallpapers of her and Specky together, Lynney spent the rest of the few hours before six o'clock in the morning to work on random bunny-themed drawings... When Mrs Dawson finally woke up at the sound of her alarm clock, she was incredibly taken aback to see Lynney still awake and to her daughter's frank confession that she had not slept at all for the night. The anxious mother quickly headed over to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for her, fearing her compromised energy levels. Lynney then set aside her over two dozen sketches of Rolleen and Specky and hurried to join her mother reassuring her that she would be alright... "Gosh, dear...Why haven't you go get your novel back? It has always helped you fall asleep all these years!" Mrs Dawson was hands full taking out and working on the ingredients for almost a feast for Lynney. The girl sighed as she leaned lightly against the kitchen counter, "Oh mom...It was my need for so many years...But, thinking things through, perhaps it's time for a change!" Mrs Dawson immediately stopped beating her bowl of eggs and turned to her daughter surprised. "Is that true, girl? Now that you mentioned it, there was not one time when your mom I have been so hurt seeing you shedding l****s after l****s of tears reading that novel book...You're right, hon...This sounds relief at last..." Lynney knew she must have caused her mom much worry then. "You're glad too, Mom? Honestly, I kept missing chance after chance of asking my book back, I just don't understand why...That person was just right in front of me literally!" Mrs Dawson went over to fetch more stuff from the fridge, "Hey, you haven't told me why you keep giving that 'Danson' silent treatment since yesterday...Have you return his call? Or did he keep trying to reach you again?" Lynney groaned, "Oh, Mom, not again! Alright, I admit that there are more than five missed calls..." Mrs Dawson was intrigued, "My my sweet hon, how can you do such a thing?! Wasn't this what you've been wishing for all these years?" Lynney bit her lip and got herself a glass of water, shaking her head, "Just wishes, Mom...Not hopes...They're different!" A frown appeared on Mrs Dawson's face as she turned to her daughter again, "Come on, girl...Just what are you talking about? What wishes and what hopes? Wishing is hoping, silly!" Lynney dismissed stubbornly, "It's the heart that makes the difference, Mom! Anyway, I really need to get in touch with SLO clinic once again...My poor little Specky needs me!" Mrs Dawson cried as she turned on the stove, "You're gonna hear me nagging if you're not going to finish up everything I cook this morning!" Lynney paced out of the kitchen and quickly give the clinic a call. When one of the vet assistants answered, it was a huge relief that she reported Specky being all well and stable throughout the night. Mrs Dawson literally have to "force" Lynney to gulp down every single bit of the classic American breakfast she had prepared before they would head back to the clinic to see Specky. For who knew how long since when, Lynney was at the top of the world once again upon seeing Specky doing fine just like the previous day when they finally arrived at the clinic. However, a different assistant told them that for the best precaution, Specky may have to remain until much later that evening before she could be allowed to be taken home. Based on the tests, they have already placed a special order of an advanced medication to mitigate residual effect(s) of a suspected toxicant that might not have been fully flushed out of Specky's system. Once more, this raised more concerns for Lynney... The assistant named Janine tried her best to reassure Lynney that all would be fine, especially after having Dr Lane stayed overnight at the clinic intensely monitoring Specky every now and then when she suffered bouts of hypotension and "parasympathomimetic" symptoms a couple of times in her sleep. The medication would also be arriving very shortly. Lynney could not thank them enough. At this, Janine kindly told them that they could take Specky out in the vicinity of the clinic whenever she was not being syringe-fed or given medication until Dr Lane would be back much later that day to perform another scan procedure on Specky. When Lynney asked about it, she almost thought she heard wrongly that they would do an ultrasound on rabbits as well... "It's for another side concern which, unfortunately Dr Lane did not specify with clarity on the report...But, I'm sure he would explain to you by today," Janine added before she checked on Specky's blood pressure again. Just while she was doing so, Lynney's cellphone sounded. When she curiously wondered if it was yet another text from Danson, both Mrs Dawson and her were surprised to find out it was actually an automatic notification informing that Lynney's earnings from the sale of her online stock photos had miraculously reached her p*****t threshold and she could request a fund transfer anytime soon...
