Key's mother invited us to a New Year's Eve party in Boston being sponsored by a publishing company there. I asked Key if I could just go over to his house instead. I decided that we couldn't be friends anymore and I had to tell Key as soon as possible. Much like my life, there was a storm coming. The wind whipped snowdrifts off the cars and rooftops.
