The rest of the office and first floor of the school were graveyard quiet so I had to be careful because the least little noise would echo thunderously. If I got caught eavesdropping, there's no telling how she would torture me. Naturally, I bumped into the secretary's chair and it made a noise as it rolled a little on its wheels and banged into the desk. "You hear that?" Miss Tellsini said to someone. "I didn't hear nothin'" a male voice replied. "It must have been a breeze from the window rattling the door because it's not closed completely." Suddenly, she slammed the door shut. It got even harder to hear them. There has to be a way, I said to myself. My eye fell on the intercom's electronic control console on the secretary's desk.
