Ex

2007 Words
Sh*t! Why are they here?! I take a peek through the window of the kitchen. I'm not just seeing things! It's the three of them! They're sitting at the table with sofas as seats, in the corner at the far right corner according to my perspective. Have they spotted me? I guess not. The last time I was in the dining hall, I didn't see them. Or is it just that I didn't notice them? The heck?!!     “What are you doing?” asks someone behind me. Oh, it's Jake, holding a tray full of coffee and pastry with the number 14 on it.     “Oh, nothing!” I lie, standing straight.     “Well, deliver this.” He gives me the tray.      “Woah!” I exclaim because I almost failed to grab it.      *Sigh* That was close. Then he goes back to the kitchen. He's helping Edgar in cooking. Arthur and I work together to serve the guests. I'm fine seemingly “flirting” with the customers just like he does it but I'm now conscious because Irene and her friends are here. But I will not give in to my fear! I must help save the business of my girlfriend! This is no time to be chickening out! Now, where is the number 14-     Oh... it's for them... Eh... this is gonna be so awkward.     They notice me taking their orders to their table. “Here are your orders, ladies,” I say, putting the tray on the table and unloading the coffee and pastry.     I try my best not to be awkward and not flirt with them as I was supposed to do. They're talking like they don't know me or even know that I'm here. Irene, however, is silent while listening to them, drinking her milk tea. Maybe it's for the best that we don't talk or make eye contact.     The relief I feel is immeasurable when I finally return to the kitchen. Then Jake is in front of me, folding his arm and frowning at me.     “What was that?” he asks.     “Pardon?”     “You f*ckin' i***t,” he scoffs. “You know what I'm talking about.”     “Uh, sorry. One of them is my-”     “I don't care if one of those girls happens to be your ex, but you need to do your job properly!” he yells at my face. “Do you even know the position we're in?”     “Hey, hey,” says Luke from the counter. “What's goin' on back there?”     “Nothing,” Jake answers. “I'm just telling this guy to do his job properly.” He turns his attention towards me. “They still have another order to go. This time, do your job!”     “Understood,” I answer, swallowing.      He turns violently and leaves me here. I feel guilty. He's right. If I want to help Eli, I must get over this. This is all I could do to help her.      Minutes later, the order is finished and I have to bring it to them. Come on, man, you can do this!     Off I go to deliver it. I put on a smile first and Irene looks away as soon as she laid her eyes on me. Mary and Reine look at me with disdain but I try my best to look nice with a smile.      “Here are your orders, pretty ladies,” I tell them as I unload the orders. “It's good weather today. I hope it lasts so you ladies can enjoy your day.”     Reine says, “Well, it might not be anymore, since a jerk showed up in it.” Mary laughs with her except Irene—she's finding this the most awkward.     I'm guessing that they're referring to me. Regardless, I answer, “Well, I hope that you won't let that jerk ruin your day. He's not even worth your time to think about. Am I right?” I chuckle as I stand up straight, pinning the tray between my arm and side. “Ask me if you need anything, ladies.” I nod at them. “Now, if you'll excuse me.”      Before turning around, I smile at them but they look at me with plain faces. It's better than looking at me like they want to kill me though. So that's that unless they order again or it's Arthur's turn to serve them. Meanwhile, I have to go and clean the empty tables for other incoming guests.     *Sigh* I survived. My chest is beating fast but it's gonna calm down. Just give it a minute. To think of it, it turned out finer than I thought. But is it only for me though? Did it turn out fine on Irene's side?      Once I'm done cleaning the empty tables and asking for the orders of the new customers, I return to the kitchen.     “You can do it, after all,” says Jake, passing by with a lot of ingredients to prepare.     “Yeah, thank you,” I answer.     “There's nothing to thank me for. Now, get to Edgar and ask him something that he needs help with.”     “I will,” I nod and go there as soon as possible.      Upon asking, I found out it was just to get a bag of coffee beans from the stock. He's busy cooking at the moment so he needs my help. I'm glad I can help since we depend on him for his cooking skills. I hope Eli pays him well. What am I talking about? Of course, she does! She's the most generous person I have ever met.     Half an hour later, Irene and her friends are still there. They're out of coffee and food.     “Kevin!” Jake calls me so I enter the kitchen. I find him holding a tray of pastries and desserts.     He doesn't need to tell me anything because I know that it's my job to bring it to the customer. It says on table 14 again. It's their order. I did my best again to approach them normally. Still, they don't care. As I unload the orders from the tray, Mary and Reine stand up.     “We're gonna go to the bathroom,” Reine says to Irene. “wait for us.”     “Okay,” Irene nods.      They walk away and I just finished unloading the orders. When I turn around, my arm gets grabbed. She wants something from me.     “What is it, ma'am?” I ask formally because I'm still on the job. She's looking at me like she's pleading.     “I forgive you,” she whispers.     My chest thumps a little. “Thank you,” I smile in relief.      “And I'm sorry on behalf of the people who bashed you on the internet. They said horrible things about you and Eli and I don't like them. I want you to know that we didn't tell them to do it. But it's my fault that the rumors spread.”     She lets go of my arm when I turn to face her. “It's okay,” I smile. “We could've handled it either way by just ignoring them and letting the rumors die.”     “Can we be just friends again?” she asks.     “Yeah,” I nod. “and excuse me because uh... gotta work.” I gesture with my thumb pointing over my shoulder to the kitchen.     “Oh, okay. Sorry for that.”     “I don't mind.”      Nodding one last time, I turn around and walk to the kitchen. Once I was inside, I feel so relieved! Deym... I'm glad that was over. Now, I can rest easy, knowing that I have resolved what I needed to resolve.    My day at the cafe continued until Irene and her friends left. I bid her farewell and her friends are looking confused why we are on good terms now. It doesn't matter to me though. She'll explain it to them, eventually.      It is at around 6 pm when Eli comes to the shop. She's looking a little tired when she walks in. I walk beside her on our way to the counter.     “How's it going?” she asks.     “Oh, we're doing fine—the wayI see it… but I don't know that much. Ask Luke to make sure.”     “Okay.”     “How about you, babe? You're looking pretty tired.”     “Yeah, I am.”     Then I whisper, “I could give you a massage later.”     Her tired face slowly turns into a smile as she answers, “I'd love to.”     Yeah... touching her body again... It's a win-win.      She talks to Luke about many things I'm not familiar with. I just continue doing my job until the rush hour is over. Then she tells me that it's okay for me to leave now and leave the rest to them because there are only a few customers left.     When we arrived at the apartment, she goes straight to the bed, tired. “I'm so tired, babe,” she groans with her face on the pillow.     “Well, let me prepare food for you before I massage you to sleep.” I put my bag on the floor near the bed then noticed her shoes. “You still have your shoes.”     “Can you remove them for me?”     “Okay.”     I remove them and it took me a while since they are sneakers with tight shoelaces. After removing her socks, I find out that she has cute feet. A person with a foot fetish will die for these. They're white and soft.     “Just give me a minute, okay?” I ask her.     “Okay,” she answers with a tired voice.     As always, I prepare the salad for her. I didn't prepare my food because I can eat later. I'll eat once she's asleep. It's not hard to prepare a salad because you just have to chop the veggies and fruits, mix them, then you have a salad. To add some protein, I cook a simple scrambled egg. I pair them with a glass of milk as a beverage. Finally, I bring them to her in the bedroom.     She's still in the same position as earlier. “You're not gonna take a shower?” I ask.     “Do I have to?” she complains.     “It's up to you.”     “Then don't complain about how stinky I am.”     “What do you mean?” I chuckle. “I love how you smell.”     “Nah, stop with the sweet talk and get to the action. Come on, give me a massage already.”     “After you eat.”     “Oh, right.”     I put the bowl of salad on the bed but keep on holding the glass of milk. She sits on the bed and eats it incredibly fast. I'm even startled when she grabs the glass of milk from my hand. After a minute, she's done and then lies on her belly on the bed. I just put the empty glass and bowl on the desk beside the bed.      “Help me undress,” she says. So, I remove her shirt for her. I was about to put ointment on my hands when she says, “My shorts too.”     It was hard to remove because she's lying on her belly and I can't see the button. Also, pulling it down is hard since she has a wide hip and good a*s. I slap it after I finally remove her shorts. Even though she has panties, the sound is genuinely slappy. That's the sound of a meaty a*s. Yeah...     “Curse you!” she curses. “That f*cking hurts!”     I laugh, saying, “That's for s******g me back then.”     “Fine! Now, give me a massage. I want to sleep.”     “How about a p*ssy massage?”
