TRISTON’S POV
I was having an adrenaline rush as I ran deep into the forest, passing tree after tree. Everything looked the same, but her scent was still somewhere around here. I could feel it. The cold wind from the north was getting into my skin.
I halted panting as I spotted footsteps in the sand, and they all led to one place, behind the fresh bushes at the other end of the forest. I sniffed the air; I'd completely lost Sage's scent by this point, and this footprint was my only hope of reaching her.
