"Where is Eric?" Triston asked in a husky tone.
"He has gone after Sage and Brian," the guard replied.
"Where did they go?" Triston inquired.
"T-This way." The guard stuttered, pointing in the direction they went. The gate was still wide open. Triston ran out of the gate at great speed. He was running down the road at a fast pace without looking back.
Sage was waiting outside Brian’s house with Leo in her hand. "What are you doing here? Runaway, go away from this pack," her wolf said inside of her for the first time.
"W-who are you? Are you my wolf?" Sage asked as tears welled up in her eyes, but she got no response from her wolf.
"I need to get out of here," she muttered to herself and wiped her tears with the back of her palm. She held sleeping Leo with one hand and carried her bag
