Dawn hadn’t broken when Serenity woke up. She turned and noticed that Alex was no longer lying beside her. She sat up and looked around, but didn’t see him anywhere. She stood, but couldn’t see the army in the distance either. It was like a mist had swarmed around her.
“So the moon has reincarnated her champion to try to vanquish me?” A raspy voice hissed out.
Serenity turned to see a dark, hooded figure standing behind her. She could see a set of yellow eyes peering back at her. She took a hesitant step backwards and the person cackled evilly at it.
“You are right to be afraid little girl. You are being asked to do, what your predecessors were unable to.” The raspy voice chuckled.
“Who are you?” Serenity was afraid, she could feel the evil seeping out from it.
