"Are they asleep?" Lucas asked while drying his hair with a towel. He just walked out of the bathroom.
He brought up the question casually in his robe-like pajamas. He sounded like a loving husband who was asking his wife if the children were asleep.
Lily was momentarily stunned. After all, she had been in a daze through the entire night. In fact, it felt like a pleasant dream that she was unwilling to wake up from.
"Mommy, come sleep with me." Out of the blue, Liam reached out for a hug. He had woken up from his deep sleep.
Lily and Lucas looked at each other and Lily smiled sweetly at him. She was surprised at how close Liam and she had become in such a short period of time.
Then she hugged Liam and gently said, "My precious darling, I'll take you to bed."
