“Everyone, eat and drink to your hearts’ content tonight. It’s all on me!” Yuna declared as she raised her wine glass to the dozens of colleagues. She then intentionally looked smugly at Lily.
Lily looked down, she focused on eating her food. Since Mrs. Chairman wanted to give them a treat, she had to attend out of respect, and try to stay out of trouble.
The colleagues were delighted that the Chairman’s wife was giving them a treat. Normally she would snub them, she wouldn’t even look at them. So today they were happy to feast and see her spending some time with them.
Yuna was very friendly to them and gradually everyone became more relaxed and chatted with her casually.
"Lily, why aren't you drinking? a colleague asked.
“I can’t drink. Enjoy yourselves,” Lily replied with a smile.
