Lucas’ idea was to completely tear down the old buildings and redevelop the area into a business district. The current residents would all move to one of Coleman Company’s residential developments at the heart of the city. This was practically the wishes of most of the residents and none had objected to this. The district was one of Amsterdam’s targeted development areas and would become prosperous within five years. The redevelopment would also bring immediate jobs and economic development to the locals.
Zachary’s idea was to develop the district into a cultural center, retaining the old architecture and identity of the district. The buildings would be conserved and upgraded with minimal changes. All the residents could stay. The businesses would be mainly associated with history, cultur
