Half an hour later, Lily sat in the passenger seat of Zachary’s car.
“Sorry, I…” Lily broke the silence, thinking Zachary was mad at her.
“Silly, I believe in you. I believe this was just a misunderstanding.” Zachary turned and glanced at her swollen profile. This was indeed a misunderstanding. An intentional misunderstanding.
“Thank you…” Lily was extremely grateful for him. Not just because he trusted her, but because he clarified the situation as her ‘boyfriend’ when they were in the room. He did all this while Lucas stood there saying nothing but watching the show. If it wasn't for Zachary, that woman would’ve skinned her alive for sure. So she was the legendary Mrs. Coleman.
“Don’t think too much about it… Let’s find a place to treat your injury first.”
