Kicked Out!

~Aspen's pov~ The night came with a cold reality. I couldn't bring myself to sleep. I could hear movements happening around the house I dared to call my home. I know my father will do as he says. Rhett Sicilian may not be a good man to me but he's an excellent father to my siblings, a wonderful husband, and a man who tells no lies. The pack leader's favorite alpha warrior. Staring at my bedroom door, I awaited my fate. A testament of my stupidity. I should have taken my sister's words. Who cared for me? Who gave a damn about Aspen Mandel? A girl born with no last name. A descendant of a goddess who has done nothing to help her. My sister spoke no lies. And although her words had cut through my heart, I should have listened. She would have paid me, and I would used that money to leave this place. But instead, I wanted justice. Was that so wrong? To want someone to defend my honor? I gave myself over to a man who wanted my younger sister. Wasted two years of my life gaining hate for dating him. Because everyone knew I wasn't good enough for him. Yet I, being the genius that I am, chose to still stick by him. I really don't know when I'll make a good decision. I could have saved all of my money and moved to another pack. I doubt my treatment there would have been better, but at least I wouldn't have to deal with the knowledge that I am outcast amongst my own family. I held myself tightly. When the pounding on the door came, my eyes nearly popped out. "Don't make us break in and drag your ass out. Get out on your own, now!" I obeyed instantly. "Pa says since you bought everything in that room, you can gather what you need, and then get the f**k out." "O-okay." "O-okay." My brothers mocked. I wiped my tears, sniffling as I grabbed my duffel bag and started to fill it with everything I owned. I had three duffel bags, and I packed everything I found important. Including the last cash I had in my hands. It should be enough for me to survive for a month since I'm not paying my family. My whole life, fits into three duffel bags. I can't believe I'm being kicked out. Goddess, you never answer my prayers. Do you enjoy seeing me suffer? I opened the door twenty minutes later. My brothers had their hands folded. They stared down at me with disgust. "Come on, let's go. The pack is waiting for you." I followed them, my legs feel weak and wobbly. The urge to throw up filled me. I don't know what life outside this pack is like. I don't know what life is like on the other end. I'm in trouble. My brothers took me out of the house, and I found a mob waiting there for me. My heart sunk into the pit of my stomach. Clementine, and Caeser where there. They held each other in a warm, dare I say, loving embrace. Eyes filled with pride, and happiness. I would no longer be their problem. But really, when have I ever caused trouble for any of them? All I asked is the man who had me convinced he loved me take responsibility for getting me pregnant. That was apparently too much. My mother and father stood by the gates to our home, with the pack leader in the middle. "Aspen Mandel, step forward." My brothers shoved me, and I caught myself before I could land on my face. I heard stifling laughter, and brushed my hands together. Keeping my face steady. My eyes only on the pack leader. "Here I am, leader." "Your father has come to me with some disturbing concerns." My shoulders stiffened. "What concerns?" "She's acting innocent." "Like the descendants before her, she's nothing but trouble." "She tried to cause problems for my son. Thank goddess, Caeser dodged a bullet." I could hear more bad words being thrown my way. Some were more vulgar than the others. "Silence!" The leader's voice boomed. They went quiet fast. "Aspen, your father claims you're pregnant." "Indeed, I am." "And the father is not of this pack, but you still decided to trick Caeser into thinking he was the father?" I gasped. My first reaction was to deny it immediately, and call them out on their lies. But seeing as my record shows no one ever believed me, I chose a different response. "I have nothing to say to that." People let out shocked noises. "w***e!" That came from Clementine, and I know it. "If your sister here had not overheard you making these plans, then you might have succeeded. What do you have to say to that?" "Absolutely nothing." The alpha looked stunned. Wondering why I wasn't trying to clear my name. "So be it. In front of the pack, I deem you a rogue. You are hereby banned from living here, and from associating with anyone from the pack. You will carry the mark of a rogue so you never forget how horrible of a person you are. That thing you call a child will have no grounds here. No say. And if you ever return, you'll be killed." I nod, seeing that my fate truly has been set. I hope everyone is happy. "May I be granted some last words?" The alpha nods. He's a good man. I admire what he's done for the Darkmoon pack. One of the best leaders we've ever had. It's a shame his people are crappy. I dropped to my knees, and closed my fingers together. "Goddess, I come to you tonight with a prayer, and a statement. If you're listening, and I have been wrongly accused, may those who wronged me be punished for it. And if this child comes out healthy, then my enemies will never have children." I shot a look my sister's way. Fear struck her face for just a second, and I got up. I stretched my hands out. The leader nodded to the guards, and they brought the hot knife my way. Drawing two X's on my wrist. I bit my lip till it bled. The pain was intense. Hot iron digging into my flesh is something I hoped to never experience. Yet here I am. Once they were done, the pack spilt up, picking up the baskets that was left by their feet. I know the routine. The X's symbolize a rogue, and then you'll have to walk out of the pack in shame while people throw fruits and vegetables at you. No hard fruits allowed. I began my walk. Crossing by my sister and Caeser. Clementine wrapped me in a hug. She said out loud for people to hear. "I looked up to you big sis, I wish you'd done better with your life. I hope you do better now." People cheered her on, calling her the golden child for still saying nice things to her deviant sister. Like she didn't call me a w***e only moments ago. My wrist bled out, shedding blood on the pavement. The clouds drew together, and a heavy bolt of lightning struck the skies. Followed by thunder. I gazed up, and shook my head. That final prayer I left with the pack was all I had to say to them. If the goddess ever heard it, I hope they all suffer. But I have been praying to that woman for years, she never listened. So why would she now? The lightning happened three more times. I took every cold touch of tomatoes, pealed oranges and more things being thrown at me. My hands covered my stomach, shielding it from the fruits. This child will never know of its father. Because it doesn't have one. Caeser is not the father of my child, the whole pack heard the alpha announce that I tried to trick him. So I'll accept that. The father is a magical angel who visited me at night. Turning a deaf ear to the words of insults people sent my way, I walked with my head down. Wishing myself the best. Pretty soon I was out of the pack, and walking down a road I'd never seen before. Outside the Darkmoon pack are creatures who frighten me. I'll just have to make the best of it.
