Arbor was exhausted, and I wasn’t ready to give up on him. His inability to get a leg up on me infuriated him, but I could see the emotions clouding his judgment, fleeing his system with every punch and kick he directed at me.
“You’re not evil, Arbor,” I spoke gently, fearful of waking another beast in this realm of chaos and unpredictability. I could sense a being toward the seaside of this realm, an area I had worked hard to avoid both times I was in here, but for now, it was sleeping, or at least not coming closer to us.
