Something of an ominous cloud fogged over the Nothing. Damon and I stood waiting for the cue from the twins, the cue that said they had located Arbor and Nolan. High hopes flooded my bones that this would not end, with only one being standing in the end.
“Anything?” Damon asked as I was the only one with eyes on the twins at this point.
“Nothing yet, no sign.” But I knew they were there, and I had sent the twins toward Nolan’s crimson thread. In hopes of preserving my magic, I hadn’t looked to the threads for direction in some time now, but seeing as the twins hadn’t found them yet, it may be a good idea to look, so I did.
