Zeldorisʼ POV
John’s screams echoed inside the room for a short while as i bit down his neck sucking out his blood. In the process I was able to view his memory. My eyes opened wide as images of his life came flashing through my mind.
A new vampire will be overwhelmed with this but not me. I’ve learned to control and filter the memories of those I bite.
I focused on the transactions he had the other day to see who dared steal from me, but I only saw the same thing he told me earlier. I did see the phone number who called him but I doubt I can still trace it. The address where he sent the file is blurry. It could only mean he’s memory had been tampered with.
It only took a few seconds before I let him go since I only intended to gather information about his transaction. I didn’t give a damn to what his life is like really. I could easily gather all other information i need to know about him if the need arises.
It took a moment for me to get off the trance. I looked at John, his eyes now blank, like a robot devoid of any emotion.
Hugo handed me a silver bucket where i spit the remaining blood in my mouth. I felt disgusted by the taste of his filthy blood. The same reason why I don’t do this kind of thing unless it is necessary.
I passed the bucket to Hugo and he gave me a piece of white cloth. I wiped my mouth with it then asked him to clean the remaining blood in John’s neck. I have licked the wound close but I canʼt leave any traces of what happened here for him to think about. That will not be good since I need him to forget what had transpired especially him seeing my true form.
“John Williams. You will forget my face, my voice and even the very fact that you have come here to meet me. You will remember signing the contract with Mr. Haze and only with him. After you leave this building you will go to your office, write down a resignation letter, pack your things and leave your position. Is that clear?” I commanded in my low enchanting voice.
“Yes Master.” He replied lifelessly.
Satisfied, I turned to my assistant Hugo Waze.
“Send him out Hugo. You know what to do next.”
“Yes master Zeldoris.” He bowed his head and led
John out of my study.
I turned and walked to my desk.
I closed my eyes feeling myself recharged with John’s blood. It had been so long since I’ve drank blood from a human. I had been living with blood bags containing animal blood.
I would admit human blood was way tastier than an animal’s blood, but I have promised my father that I will not drink human blood 80 years ago. It was after that incident that I saw how filthy humans really are and so is their blood.
Isabelle...
In my mind, I saw a picture of a beautiful woman with fair skin and long thick black mane smiling at me, flashing her perfect white teeth. Her dimpled checks seemed to beg for a kiss. While her eyes... yes her eyes that sparkled like the how the sea sparkled under the moonlight hinted her mischievous thoughts...
My heart ached seeing her memory but before any more memories from the past come flooding my mind I heard Hugo clear his throat.
Of course it can only be Hugo for no one else but my loyal servant is allowed access to my home.
He came from a generation of human that serves me and my father. For centuries, their family existed only to serve us.
Yes, he is human. The only human that I trust with my secrets as a vampire.
“Is there anything else?” I asked as I opened my eyes.
“Yes master, I would like to inform you that the reports on the recent developments of the cure have been finished. It is now on your table sir.”
“Good. And what about the other matters?” I asked then he nodded, knowing full well what I am inquiring about.
“Yes sir, on the recent reports that I acquired, it seemed like the team in charge of finding Master Hendrickson found clues connecting to a certain Sarah Webber.”
“What of it?” I leaned closer. Finally, a lead to my father’s mysterious disappearance!
“She died on the same day and year Master Hendrickson disappeared sir.”
“Sarah Webber...where have I heard of the name before?” I asked more to myself as I leaned back trying to remember. My eyes widened when It suddenly dawned me. Hugo nodded in agreement confirming my thought.
“Yes sir. I believe it was because she is the same Sarah written in your father’s accounts.”
“What?! The surrogate mother?!” I felt a sudden rush in my blood.
“Indeed sir.”
“And you’re telling me she’s dead? Are you sure?” If she’s dead, then what becomes of the child?
“Yes sir. I’m afraid it is true. I had the team run a DNA test on her remains.”
“And what of the child?” I finally asked.
“According to the reports sir, the child died with her when they fell off a cliff.”
