Chapter 3 “What the f**k?” David mumbled, as he watched Jared drive down the street three houses. David walked back into the house, but instead of staring at the atrium this time, he looked at the entry table opposite it in the foyer. The table was teak with a glass inlay on top. In the center, a big red candle stood supreme. Pictures in matching silver frames surrounded it on both sides. David looked to the right of the candle. It was still there. A much younger David and Jared stared back at him from inside a silver frame. They were twenty-two, and freshly graduated from college. Their arms were around each other, and smiles covered their faces. David grabbed the picture and scrutinized the face of twenty-two-year-old Jared for signs. Surely, he should have seen something in his face
