“He’s a reporter I’m working on a case with, babe.” “You sounded weird earlier, so I wanted to call back and check in on you.” Teagan looked up at the security camera and turned away from it to avoid any lip reading. “Sorry about that. It’s a case that landed in my lap that I need to handle.” “Something that has you traveling out of the country?” “I don’t know yet.” “Teagan, come on. This is getting ridiculous,” Christian fussed. “You don’t think I know that?” Teagan grunted. “We need to talk when you get home.” “Okay.” “I’ll get dinner started.” “Thanks, and Christian?” “Yeah.” “I have to put security details on the family.” “We’ll talk later,” Christian groaned, ending the call.
