The Raven came out of his tent and spoke up, "When you two clowns are finished we have work to do. We're going out of the valley to check out some reports that have come to our attention. We will travel light and fast."

Red and Wolf went to the stables to saddle the horses and make arrangements for another mare to nurse Nudge. Red setup Marry with a light pulling harness and a coil of heavy rope. When Wolf asked about it Red told him that a specific request for Mary meant heavy work could be involved. After saddling the horses they returned to the Raven's tent to find him engaged in some last minute conversations with the Lion.
