In the morning they walked several blocks to the plastic surgeon's office. The doctor was waiting and Grace was prepared for the surgery by his nurse. He used local painkillers to make the work tolerable for Grace. He worked fast and used the finest thread to make the smallest stitches. For most of the wounds he used glue and surgical tape, to reduce the scarring.
When the surgery was finished the girl's face was bandaged. With the stitches and the bruises she had received the day before, she wasn't in a position to argue with the Raven about going back to live on the street.
