“How could you?” I asked him after I found him coming from the building going to the car.
“What are you talking about?” He asked acting like he didn’t know what I was talking about.
“We agreed that you could keep quiet about our engagement until I sorted out everything but less than....” I wanted to say but he cut me short
“Is that why you are here? Your parents want this marriage as soon as possible because they are desperate to get rid of you. Now if you want to rant about your frustration go talk to your family” he said to me getting in the car without wasting time and driving off. I felt like yelling at him but I knew it was not his fault.
I slowly dragged myself out of the parking lot getting in my car driving home and when I reached, I found Ariel getting in her car dressed like a hooked.
When she saw me, she mockingly acted like she wanted to vomit. I simply looked at her before going inside, I went straight to father’s study room, I found him there acting like he didn’t see me.
I got the envelope placing it on his desk and walking out. I did something important but he didn’t even say well done or even look at me.
I went to my room took a shower after I finished, I decided to find articles about me and Mason’s engagement. And everything just sounded disgusting to me, feeling disappointed I lay down and cried myself to sleep. I was going to get married to one of the richest and power family but I knew I was going to be considered useless even there.
The next day I promised myself that I would be happy despite all that’s happening right now.

“Good morning mother” I cheerfully greeted her but she decided not to respond, I just looked at her and went on to the kitchen.
I got my breakfast ready putting it nicely on the table, I turned to get juice when I heard the plate fall hitting the ground. “Oops! Didn’t see that!” I heard Ariel's voice say behind.
I wanted to yell at her but I simply closed my eyes and took a deep breath before I turned to look at her
“Will you clean this up?” she said and the maid quickly rushed there to start cleaning but she stopped her.
“She carelessly put the plate there let her clean it” she instructed me, I took a deep breath going to get pick the broken pieces and without wasting time I finished. She was just there waiting for me.
“How is it with Dylan? He must be disappointed knowing you betrayed him” she asked me before I stepped out of the kitchen, I stopped in my tracks looking at her she really had no shame. I didn’t respond to her remarks and just walked away, I met father on the way I greeted him but wanting to walk away but he stopped me.
“We are meeting Mason’s parents for dinner,” he said and walked past me, I wanted to ask him more details but I knew he would say I was a slow thinker

I got dressed for the dinner and father sent someone to give me the name of the restaurant.
I wore a black lace dress which was knee length with heels and carried a clutch. I went to my car driving off, I arrived at the restaurant and Sullivan’s had not yet arrived.
Why did you wear that? Don’t you have other clothes?” My mother snapped looking at the dress I had worn. It was a lace bell long sleeve black dress that showed off my curves nicely.
“It’s the only one I could fit” I responded sitting a seat away from my mother
“That’s because you are too fat and can’t stop eating, try starving yourself and lose some of that weight,” she said as I swallowed hard fighting back my tears.
“Honey, calm down,” my father said holding my mother’s hand. I looked down holding on to my purse. I couldn’t wait for this meeting to end so I can go home and cry myself to sleep.
Mason’s POV
We arrived at the restaurant we were meeting the Jenkins. We arrived walking in with my father leading us in when I saw how the woman was being spoken down on by her mother, she looked like she was hurt.
“Good evening Dominic!” I heard my father greet Gillian’s father, they all stood up greeting us.
“Please take your seats” He offered us to sit down and I couldn’t wait for this dinner to come to an end.
Our food was served and my mother was so excited to have to chat to Gillian I didn’t know whether she was pretending or genuinely liked her
“Gillian, when do you think the wedding should take place?” My mother asked her, she lifted up her head looking at her father before she turned to my mother
“As soon as it’s convenient for you, I don’t mind which day it is,” She said, her voice sounded so much like she wanted to break down but was trying to stay strong
“Perfect then let’s first plan your engagement party after that then we can plan the wedding later,” Mother said excitedly, I looked at the Jenkins and they all had fake smiles on their faces.
“Perfect! Gillian, how does two weeks from now sound?” She asked Gillian who looked up at me if I planned to say something
“That sounds great!” She said as my mother smiled widely at Gillian who was so nervous
“Mother please if you will excuse me, I will be taking my leave now. Mrs Jenkins, it was a pleasure to meet you” I said standing up to leave
“It was nice to meet you as well; I hope I will get to see you more often” She replied grinning as I nodded my head
“I will take my leave as well!” Gillian said standing up, I looked at her and my mother was just signalling me that I ask to walk with her
“We can walk together,” I said to her as she looked at her father for approval
“I will see you later at home,” the mother said to her as she nodded her head quickly following me as we started walking
“Must you say yes to everything?” I snapped turning around to her and she just dropped her head. I was frustrated with her, I looked closely at her. “Do you what you have gotten yourself in?” I asked her and she nodded her head without saying anything
“You are being forced to get married to me and they are pushing for it, why can’t you just speak for yourself” I yelled at her and she just stood there without answering me
“f**k!” I cussed as I walked away, why did my parents decide to go for such a person? I could have easily married someone else.
