CHAPTER THREE JENIFER’S POV “Why are you being so impossible Jenny? This is my life and now finally, I have something that makes me feel super,” Chloe snapped. I had stepped out of the house to deal with my sister while Damien and Madeline tried to figure out a way to deal with Sean. This was not the turn I had expected our normal lives would take.   “I’m not being impossible Chloe, you are! This…is not us. We are normal people living some f*****g normal lives. We are not this…whatever this is,” I throw my hands in the air in emphasis.   “Maybe we were never normal. Maybe we were around too much normalcy to realize we were above normal. I know it’s hard for you but you need to accept it. I have power now and I’m not going to deny my destiny just because you want us to be normal. Don’t you realize that now you can stop being boring?” She snapped.   “Destiny? This is not destiny Chloe and I’m only trying to protect you,” Could she not understand that? If this was the life I could exchange for my normal one, then I’d rather live a boring life.   “Protect me from what? From being a time witch? Well, I’m sorry that you desperately want everything to be so normal but guess what Jenny? It isn’t and there is nothing you can do about it. You are already part of this extra normal world and you can’t escape it. Vampires and witches are your new normal and you should have figured that out by now. Now, I’m just going to get inside the house and help Damian and Madeline do what it is they want to do with Sean,” She walked inside, leaving me standing outside, hands planted firmly against my hips.   This was not how I had wanted my morning to go. It was like my life had suddenly turned three sixty degrees and I had no idea how exactly I was supposed to get a hold of it. Now, not only was my hometown infested with vampires, but now my own blood sister was some sort of time witch, whatever that meant.   “I told you to stay away from my husband,” My gaze perked up, watching as Christine hurried towards me, anger detectable in every step she took towards me.   “Look, I know you are still grieving Sean but I’ve really never had an affair with your fiancée. I don’t even know who-“I had not seen that slap coming until I felt the pain spreading over my face. My lower lip dipped slightly in shock.   “Why the f**k did you do that for Christine? Are you insane?”   “Don’t you call me that pathetic human’s name!” she snapped, getting hold of my chin in a rather tight grip as she whispered on my face, a pair of fangs appearing that made me shriek slightly,” My name is Stormy,”   “Impossible,” I heard Damien mutter.   How did he get out? Right, vampire speed.   He inched closer, not cautious but more like in disbelief. His gaze did not even once flutter towards me as he assessed Christine’s face.   “Damien,” her voice had grown unimaginably soft and emotion stricken.   “Stormy,” I’ve never heard him sound so…vulnerable but not the kind of vulnerability that made him look helpless. Instead, it was the kind of vulnerability you feel when you see someone you haven’t seen in a very long time and you are just overwhelmed with emotions.   “But how...I don’t…I can’t…This is impossible,” he muttered eventually.   “I know and I have the whole time in the world to tell you everything but right now, I got a mortal to deal with. I get that she was pretty distraction while I was gone but we both know, it is her time to go,” she turned to me, malice written all over her.   “But how is this possible? You are in Christine’s body, “Damien was stuck in disbelief. Did he not hear the part where Christine or Stormy or whoever she was, threatened me?   “Like I said darling, I have so much time in the world. Now, let me get away with your little….muse. I would not want a distraction to cause a problem while I reunite with my husband,” she smiled sinisterly, her hand reaching towards my neck but Damien caught it.   “You don’t get to lay a hand on her, darling. See, she is not just a muse to me,” he paused, meeting my gaze,” she is my…favorite addiction,”   I should be flattered and maybe a part of me secretly was, but he was a vampire. A hot one but still a vampire.   Stormy laughed, “Seriously Damien? After so many years apart, you are going to stop me from getting done with this ….food?” she smirked. Food. Of course, I was human.   “So much can happen within these years Stormy,” he shut his eyes briefly then turned towards me,” Go inside Jenny, please,” he added in a softer, pleading tone.   “Just make sure that I get my friend back from Stormy or otherwise…you’d go back to where you came from and not in a nice shape,” I snarled at Stormy before making my way back inside the house.   The moment I closed the door behind me, I let out a shaky breath. Officially, this day was f****d up and I was almost at the edge of my patience.   “Are you okay Jenny?” Chloe questioned.   “Well, if finding out that your co-worker who has been missing for days only to reappear at Sean’s funeral is actually possessed by the wife to the man you can’t stop thinking about counts as okay, then I’m definitely okay,” I shrugged.   “For a moment there it sounded like you said Damien’s wife is possessing Christine,” Chloe translated, chuckling.   “Because that is what I said Chloe,” I snapped. I had no idea why I was angry.   “Oh God!” Madeline staggered back as though in shock. ` “What?” I questioned.   “I knew that spell I did would work but now I know why it didn’t bring her back. It’s because she was already here. Someone beat us in raising Stormy. The question is who and why?”
