Chapter Nine Words of Wisdom There was a plate of scrambled eggs and bacon in my right hand, a coffeepot in my left, and a pencil over my ear falling out of my hair. Trying to juggle it all and probably looking pretty stupid, I passed by the fourth booth on my way to the one at the back of the diner. My eyes did a quick double take and I stopped almost spilling the plate. “Tony?” “Angel, hi.” He was smiling and I blushed. “What are you doing here?” “Seeing you.” “Yeah, like this?” I looked at my dirty apron, then remembered the bacon, eggs, and coffee. “I gotta serve this.” “Sure.” Thought I’d melt, but not because I wanted to.
