WEDDING DAY

CASSIDY'S POV I woke up naked, but only a sheet covered our bodies. I don't know where the sheet came from, but what I knew for sure was that my head was banging so hard it felt like I died. I opened my eyes, and Lisa was sleeping using my upper body as a pillow. On the other side of the bus, there was a lot of snoring from the bridesmaids and the bride. " Hey, Lisa. " I whispered, shaking her lightly. " Mmh ". She answered. " Wake up, sweetheart, and it's time to back home. " I said. A few seconds later, she woke up. " Hey, good morning. " I said, smiling at her shyness, and she buried her face in me. It's either she didn't plan this to happen, or she just remembered what happened or something unrelated. I don't, but she was a lot shy than last night. Last night we went out of the city. Diana is getting married today. It just happened so fast. I remember returning home last night from Nate's house, and the next thing was Diana getting inside my place the following day, telling me to get ready. We were going to a bachelorette party. I didn’t even remember her dating, but here she was getting married. Strange things happen. Thursday, I was thinking of proposing to my boyfriend of 5 years, and here Diana is getting married to her 2-minute boyfriend, or maybe they have been dating for a long time. I was just too occupied in my relationship to notice. Could it be that she's pregnant? Mm, no, why would she marry because she's pregnant? After a while, Lisa got up and got dressed, and I took a few minutes to get up. We were both asleep on the bus seats with a cold metal on my back. My back was in pain with my head as well. Oh, as for Lisa, she's our driver. I met her yesterday, and after she got drunk, I woke up with her undressing me while kissing me everywhere while still shocked. She just fell asleep on top of me, and I couldn't move, so I just went back to sleep, confused about my sexuality, but then I knew I had a boyfriend, so I'm not bisexual. Looking outside, the club we were at yesterday was closed. How long have we been here? I checked the snoring gang, and everyone was inside. Then it was time to go. Lisa started driving with me half dead or half awake on the passenger seat, and I didn't wake the others up. Driving back to the city, the road felt long and dreadful. I was not looking forward to the wedding, but then I happened to be a maid of honor, so I had to be there. " Hey, thanks for driving us, Lisa. " I told her, smiling a little. " You're welcome, and I had fun driving you guys. " She answered, smiling too. " So what do you do ? ". I asked her " I'm a mechanic. " She answered. " Ohh, I see. That requires a lot of skill and Intelligence. " I answered that I had tried engineering growing up, but physics was not my strong suit, and it just kept knocking me down. " Well, yeah, it is. " She answered. " So you won't get in trouble leaving work with us ? ". I asked. " No, not really. I had nothing to do. Maybe that's one of the reasons for owning a motor repair garage. " She answered. " What! So you own that garage ? ". I asked, and that's precisely where I met her yesterday. I was tired of driving so I thought I should ask her and she was nice to accept my offer. " Yes, I do. Does that shock you ? ". She asked. " No, I'm impressed with you; you look very young to run such a big company. " I told her. " Well, yeah, I went to college at an early age. Luckily, my parents gave me the garage after I graduated. Sometimes it feels like they are still running it but just using me," She said, chuckling. " Well, old habits die hard. " I answered. " So, how about you? What do you do ? ". She asked. " I'm an associate attorney". I answered. " wow! okay ". She answered as we pulled up in the driveway at home. " How did you know where we live ? ". I asked. " I live across the street, and I see you here sometimes. " She answered. " Ohh god! I'm a lousy neighbor ". I answered, a little embarrassed. " No, you are good, just a little busy. " She answered. " Wow, you are a darling Lisa. " I said, moving to wake up the sleeping gang. " Hey ! Hey! Wake up! It's time for the wedding ! ". I shouted, my head pounded even more as I shouted. They quickly woke up as we went inside to wash up and prepare. Thanking Lisa one last time, she returned to her house. " Would you like to go to a wedding with me ? ". I called out to her. " Can't get enough of me, do you? " She asked a little cheeky. " What if I said yes? Would you come ? ". I asked, smiling. It sounded like she was flirting with me too badly; I'm not into girls, and I have a boyfriend. " Yes, I will meet you in a few minutes," She answered. I went inside the house to wash up, too and started doing my makeup. Diana is a cheap bride. How could she not hire a hairstylist for all of us? She only got herself a makeup artist and hairstylist. I blow-dried my hair, then started applying the moisturizer and straightened it. I was not good with makeup, so I went for it, which was brushing up my eyebrows, applying a fiber volumizing and lengthening mascara, black eyeliner, silver eyeshadow to go with my shoes, putting on foundation, a little mattifying powder, and a slight mineral blusher with reflecting pearls, I put on nude matte lipstick. Taking off my towel, I moisturized my body and slipped on my bridesmaid dress. And I couldn't believe Jessi hadn't made me her maid of honor. Anyway, I wore a peach, sleeveless and very tight dress stopping at the knees, well I love it, it also had a big navy bow on the left breast, I'm not sure if it was necessary for the bow but who am I to argue with her choice of bridesmaids dresses. I put on beige block heels, and it will be a long day for just heeled shoes. I put on my accessories, which were earrings, a tiny necklace with a star, and a watch, and finished off with my Chanel No:5 Perfume. I was good to go. The wedding started it was a very short and impromptu wedding. I thought a wedding takes at least 8 hours, but nope. Diana's wedding took only an hour, and the guests were close friends. I guess no one heard about the wedding but then what matters the most is that the couple loves each other, not too much or few guests would change that. Watching the wedding, I couldn't help but think about mine with Nate. Just seeing how beautiful Diana was in her wedding dress made me want to borrow it after she was done, then call Nate and get married to him right at that moment, but I couldn't steal Diana's spotlight. I thought about it, but I didn't want to be the girl who got married at her best friend's wedding. I value friendship as much as I value myself; that's what life taught me or what I taught myself about life. Oh no, that's what Kate told me when she stopped being friends with me.
