Genalise
The music boomed inside the stadium, exciting Genalise and her friend, April, to the max. They could not believe that they were actually there at one of their concerts. April’s father had come through for those two. Good grades equals concert tickets to your most favorite rock band.
As the two waited for their band to perform, they darted inside the bathroom, checking themselves out in the mirror that was pasted against the wall above the sink. April placed another layer of lip liner with a burgundy coat of Maybelline’s lipstick on her plump lips. Genalise checked out her outfit. Black skinny jeans with a halter top that had Sins From Sinners on the front of it. Her high top boots with the black metal thorns all over them.
She then focused on her hair, which was the same burgundy color as April’s glossy lipstick that she threw on. Her golden brown eyes sparkled in the mirror as she waited for the real show to start. Checking the black spiked collar on her neck, she was ready to rock out that night. April nudged her best friend and chuckled.
“Are you trying to get laid tonight?” April shouted at Genalise with a hearty laugh. “You’ll open your legs to Kian?!”
“No, I wouldn’t!” Genalise shouted back to her, getting defensive.
She rolled her eyes at her and grabbed her purse from the marble sink.
“Are you ready, Mrs. Sins?!” April joked.
“Don’t do that!”
Genalise grabbed her handbag and followed April out of the bathroom. They rushed over to where everybody else was and April squealed when the line began to move. They were ready to rock out, but they were ready to see their band, up close and personal. Rumor had it that the band was giving out passes to the pretty girls during their performance. April was gorgeous in Genalise’s eyes, but Genalise felt she could’ve been a lot better with the looks. Natural, curly hair that's shoulder length, her body was nice and toned up. Thick hips and thighs, a small waist and upper body, that’s what men liked about her.
The thing about Genalise was that she always questioned a man’s judgment in her. Besides the thickness, she was your typical ordinary girl. She worked at Starbucks as a Bartista, she loved reading and writing. She even enjoyed watching tv and playing video games that consisted of first person shooters, horror themes and her most favorite - zombies. Nothing else important about Genalise. Well, in her eyes, that was.
“We’re almost there!” April shouted.
The security took the tickets from their hands, tore it and let them inside the huge area. April and Genalise awed in silence as they checked out the thousands of chairs that were behind them and the gigantic stage that was going to hold their band on. The metal rails that April and Genalise came cross, separated them from the stage. But, at least the girls got front row tickets.
“Oh my god, your dad got the best seats!” Genalise shouted. “I’m so excited!”
“Girl, I am too!” April exclaimed. “I think I’m more excited that I finally get to see Vince in action!”
They stood in the front, waiting for the concert to start. Genalise tapped her black painted acrylics on the metal rail getting anxious. She was so excited to see the lead singer, Kian. He was her absolute favorite. It wasn’t just the sexy rock clothes and the gorgeous looks that he accessed. The thing that pulled her to him was his voice. He sounded like an British god to her. The way his accent blended with the songs he sang made her heart melt. Let’s not forget the way he screamed into the mic. That right there sent chills down her spine. The way he sang, she knew it was from the depth of his heart.
Genalise and April turned around, staring at the thousands of people who came to see Sins From Sinners play. They had a lot of fans in Los Angeles. The Staples Center was packed and they weren’t even finished with the line. Genalise looked down at her phone and saw that the concert was going to start in 30 minutes. So, if they didn’t bring everybody in, they were going to miss part of their show. And that was going to suck since they were on tour. So, today was the only night to catch them in Los Angeles, California.
“UGH!” April shouted, impatiently. “They need to hurry up!”
“They’re setting up!” Genalise shouted to her friend.
April rolled her eyes and smacked her lips before she turned around to look at the people that piled behind them.
“Wow, so many people!” April exclaimed. “They really love your boy, Kian!”
“He’s not my boy!” Genalise shouted. “Besides, they can like him as long as they want to! He has an amazing voice!”
“And from what I heard, he’s good in the bedroom, too!”
“Something I don’t care about!”
Another eye roll from April. Genalise looked at her friend and laughed. She noticed the lights had dimmed a moment after and her attention went back to the stage. The crowd grew louder than ever as the curtains opened up, revealing the instruments belonging to the band. Security came out and stood in their positions, waiting for people to step out of line. They were ready to toss anybody out of the stadium. Smoke poured from both sides of the stage before the members emerged from behind the mist.
“OH MY GOD!” April screamed with excitement. “THERE’S VINCE!!”
Vince came out from the back first. April stared at him with admiration as he placed the straps of his six string guitar over his shoulder and under his left arm. He moved his blonde curls behind his shoulder and turned his head to the left of him, stringing a couple notes from his guitar. Their drummer, Dante, came out next. Flinging his drumsticks around his fingers as he made his way over to his drum set. He took a seat on his stool and started tapping on the cymbals, gently with the sticks. Two more men came out: another guitarist by the name of Doug and the bassist, Logan. They both prepared, ready to start the show.
That’s when the song “Vengeance Of The Beast” played. Fire sparked on the stage as they all played the same beat. The way Vince and Doug plucked their strings was amazing. Their hands moved fast on stage and their massive head nods were so addictive. Everybody was doing it, except Genalise. Her attention was on the stage to the one person who she wanted to see that entire night. When she saw Kian come onto the stage, her heart pounded, rapidly.
Kian rushed across the stage and grabbed his mic. Then, his voice came loud into the speakers. Oh how his voice sounded to Genalise’s ears made her fall in love with the man himself. April was dancing wildly next to her mesmerized friend. He moved closer to the stage and he scanned the whole audience. However, his eyes stopped in one place, on one person as he continued to sing. And the person he was staring at was Genalise. April saw him staring at her friend and she nudged Genalise on the shoulder.
“HE’S LOOKING AT YOU, GEN!” April shouted over the music.
Genalise knew who he was looking at. He gave her smile and a wink before he moved over to the next side of the stage, leaving her body frozen where she now stood. April put her arm around her friend and put her lips to her ear.
“You are drooling!” She shouted in her ear.
Genalise wiped the side of her mouth and April laughed loud.
“I KNEW IT!” She shouted. “YOU’RE PRACTICALLY EYE HUMPING HIM!”
Genalise turned to her friend, blushing a dark red that only she knew about. The lights were still dimmed and the stage was flashing lights as the men played their song.
