Chapter 1- Sailor

Chapter 1 Sailor 10 years ago How did I get myself into this situation? Oh that’s right, my brothers. They thought keeping me from their secret was going to protect me, and because they doubted me as a female. Obviously they’re wrong. Just because I’m a girl, doesn’t mean I can’t do what they do, for the most part. Hell, if I wanted to I could use a strap on and have a d**k just like they do and go around poking it into everything with two legs. I winced slightly at the thought. I hated that I still had a school girl crush on them, and that even thinking about them with someone else made me boil over with anger. It was never going to happen. I was off limits to them. Any of my brothers friends, which was a lot. I had four older brothers, so, basically our entire town knew I was off limits. But tonight, I wasn’t their best friends kid sister. I was someone else completely. They didn’t know I knew how to fight, but with four brothers, how did I not know? Gage was standing next to me, wrapping my wrists, his eyes never moving from his job, but I could tell he was tense. Matthew was on the other side, talking to the guy I was about to fight. This was a debt fight. All four of my brothers were currently in the hospital thanks to the asshole across the ring. If anything happened to any of them… I let my mind move from that though and my fists clenched in anger. If they’d only told me, I could have helped them, but no. Those idiots kept this to themselves and got into more trouble than they needed. “We could have handled this, Sail. “Gage finally speaks, and his tone is cold and empty of any emotion. When he looks up at me though, my heart crashes to the ground. I can see everything his voice isn’t saying. He doesn’t want me to fight. Well I don’t exactly want that either, but this is personal. My parents are beside themselves trying to figure out who put their boys in such a state. I can’t keep looking at Gage. The way he’s wrapping my wrists and looking at me. It makes my insides hot and that’s not possible. I see Matthew come striding over from the other side, his jaw is set in a tight line and I frown. Whatever they were talking about obviously didn’t make him happy. “He’s dead set on regular rules.” He gritted out between his closed teeth and I hear someone behind me swear. Turning my head, I notice Bentley. When the f**k did he get here? He was at the hospital the last time I saw him. I yank my hand from Gage and shoot up from my seat. “Bent?” My voice is barely above a whisper. I’m waiting for any news from him. They have to be okay, I can’t live without my brothers. His sad eyes find mine and he shakes his head. “No new news baby girl. “He says gently, holding his arms out for me. I gladly enter his embrace, holding onto him tightly. I’ve known him the longest. He’s my oldest brother's best friend, and I swear they’ve been friends my entire sixteen years of life. He’s been through everything with us. The divorce, the remarriage, the next divorce. My parents can’t seem to get their s**t together, or figure out if they love each other enough to actually stay married. Bentley has been through it all with me. He’s the oldest out of all of us, three years older than me and a year older than the other guys. “I don’t like this. They aren’t going to change the rules even though she’s a female.” Matthew said, running a hand through his brown hair. He was worried, which was sweet, but they’ve never seen me fight. They don’t know that I’m better than my brothers, even they’d tell you that. I shook my head, pulling myself from the safety of Bentley’s arms. “It’s fine. I don’t need them to change the rules. Have some faith in me, Matty.” I said with a sweet smile. I was the only one allowed to call him Matty. He never let his girlfriends call him that, and to see their faces when he’d set them straight was always a pleasure of mine. I looked between the three of them and noticed we had one missing. My heart dropped slightly. He’d told me he wasn’t going to be here, but I thought maybe by now he would have changed his mind. I needed him here. Before I could react, I felt two strong arms wrap around my waist and pull me back to a hard chest. I didn’t need to look behind me to know who it was. He was never affectionate to anyone but me, which everyone thought was weird. I didn’t. I was the one he told everything to, even though he wasn’t my best friend. He was the one that didn’t have girlfriends, just flings because he couldn’t handle the emotional aspect of it. “I thought you weren’t coming?” I breathed softly, closing my eyes as he moved us away from the others. He never did like to show this side of him in front of everyone. My brothers always thought we were dating, but sadly we were not. “I wasn’t going to. I didn’t want to see you fight like this. Ever.” His deep, gruff tone came from behind me and I smiled slightly. I loved the way his voice sounded. “I have to.” I whispered, trying to pull myself away from his touch. It was always so much, my body reacted too much to his touch, to his presence. “I hate this. “ He said gently, not letting me go. He knew I needed him to hold me, because deep inside I was totally freaking out and he knew. He always knew. “Me too.” I admitted, leaning my head to rest against his chest. I could feel his thumb stroking my stomach in a sweet, tender touch. I could never understand what this big, muscular guy ever saw in me. He treated me like I was his, even though I wasn’t. I remember the first guy that asked me out on a date. It never happened because of Dallas. “We’re going on a date after this. I don’t care what your brothers say.” He moved his head to my ear as he spoke and I went stiff. A date? Since when did he see me like that? I could feel my breath quicken and apparently he noticed it too. He turned me around, keeping one hand around my waist and brought the other up to cup my cheek. “It’s always been you, Sailor.” He whispered softly, his eyes flicking to my lips. I licked them, unable to stop myself. When his lips touched mine, my world stopped. Time stood still and everything that was happening behind us was drowned out. The only thing I could focus on was him and how aware of him I was. Sure I’d fantasized about him kissing me before, but nothing like this. Not before I was about to fight for my life, my family’s life. It took me longer than I thought to respond to his kiss and the groan he gave set my body on fire. This was the kiss I’d never forget. The one that would stay with me forever. When we pulled away, we were both panting and my eyes were still closed. I didn’t want to open them and this be some sick, weird dream. His lips touched my forehead and then his arms wrapped me into a hug. “I’ve wanted to do that for a few years now.” He mumbled, I could tell he was smiling. I pulled back enough to look up at him, still a little breathless. “What took you so long?” I asked, unable to stop the smile that was spreading across my lips. “Your brothers. Them.” He nodded towards the other three that were doing the best they could not to look at us. What did they have to do with any of this. I opened my mouth to ask just that but didn’t have the chance. “We don’t have all day princess.” One of the guys across the mat had yelled and I rolled my eyes at him. I waited for them, they could wait for me. Dallas took my hand and lead me back to the others. They didn’t look happy to see him, or the fact that he was holding my hands. Gage took the one hand he didn’t finish wrapping and quickly finished the job. “You know the rules, right?” Matthew asked and I nodded. I rolled my shoulders and turned my head from side to side. I was ready for this fight, I’d been pumping myself since the first text that had been sent to my oldest brothers phone. “They’re going to kill us for letting you do this.” Bentley said with a sigh and a frown. The others nodded and I shrugged. “Well then they shouldn’t have been dumb asses. “ I snapped back at him before entering the ring. The guy I was fighting was easily twice my height and weight. I winced slightly at the thought of how much he could f**k my small body up. We met in the middle of the ring and the guy had a stupid grin on his face. “Sorry I have to mess up your pretty face.” He said with a chuckle and I gave him a sweet smile back. “Sorry I have to mess up your man card.” I shot back. I hated when guys thought I couldn’t take them. It’d been a little while since I’d fought someone like this guy, but I knew I could take him. I had the advantage with my size. He grumbled and we took our stances. I might have misjudged how nimble this guy was. I was surprised when the first jab came my way. I dodged it and hopefully my surprise didn’t show on my face. I had to adjust the way I fought him if he was this agile. He grinned at me and took a step forward, getting ready to throw another left handed jab my way. I wasn’t going to let that happen. In all honesty, I was going for a knockout. This would be done, and I could get to my family. I moved around the ring, watching his left jabs, he missed ever time he tried. I took a step towards him, right as he was bringing his latest jab back and my heel got him right in the jaw. His steps faltered and he shook his head. “Fuck.” He spit out some blood and I smirked. “You little b***h. You’ll pay for that.” He mumbled out and I rolled my eyes. “This is a fight, right? I showed up to the right place yes? Did you not expect to get hit?” I deadpanned. I could hear the guys behind me holding back their laughter. Was this guy an i***t? He growled at me and I rolled my shoulders slightly and shifted my feet. I knew he as a bit fuzzy, a hit like I just did would do that to you. The guy doesn’t go for another jab, he goes for the bear attack. The charge you until you have nowhere else to go. I brace for impact. As soon as his body hits mine, I squeak and I’m thrown to the other end of the ring, where the guys are. I grunt and roll over to my side, facing away from the other side. They can’t see my pain, but holy s**t does it hurt. I look up at the clock and I have two minutes to get up before the round is called in his favor. “You’ve got this.” His voice is the only one I hear and I look up to meet those ice blue eyes of his. Dallas doesn’t like fighting, but he’s here for me. Because he knows I need to finish this. Whatever my stupid ass brothers got themselves into, it ends tonight. I give him a small nod and roll back over, pushing myself up from the ground. The guy I’m fighting didn’t expect that, because he his face goes blank, and pale. “Holy shit.” He mumbles and shakes off the two other guys. He charges for me, but this time I’m ready for him. I sidestep just in time and he goes face first into the mat. I waste no time scrambling over to him and hitting a couple pressure points before getting him in a headlock, my knee in his back. Five seconds, I counted. That’s all it took for him to pass out. Knockout. I let him go, my breathing is hard, my eyes are full of tears and I look up to find the four guys on my side entering the ring. They’re running towards me and I just want to be in someone’s arms right now. I want to fall apart and get my wounds tended to. Dallas is the first one to me, he wraps me up in his arms and presses a kiss to my forehead. “Damn Sailor. I didn’t know you could fight like that.” Gage says, bouncing next to me, a huge smile across his face. I just give him a smile and a nod. I still need to talk to Nix. He’s the reason I’m even here to begin with. A throat clears and the guys stand behind me, Dallas letting me go so I can turn to look at the older man. “Well, well. The little Martian girl knows how to fight. I’m kind of surprised.” He said rubbing his chin, a weird twinkle in his eyes. He glanced at the body still on the mat and chuckled. “He was one of my best too. You took him down like it was nothing. “ The way he said that was not comforting, not at all. “This settles the dept my brothers owe. You’ll leave us alone now.” I demanded, no question in my voice. I was surprised I didn’t falter, apparently so was he. His look became deathly and I inhaled a sharp breath. “Oh Princess. This is just beginning. “ He said, taking a step closer to me. I felt Dallas’ arm go around my waist and suddenly I’m behind a wall of muscles. All four of them are in front of me. Nix is laughing and I can’t see s**t. I groan and blow out hot air. Trying to push them out of the way is useless, so I just stand there, with my arms crossed. “You said it was just one fight, Nix. One fight and they’d all be out of it.” Gage is the one that speaks and I turn my head to him. Wait, did they know about this beforehand? The hairs on the back of my neck stand up and suddenly I don’t feel good. “I wanted to see if she was just as good. Her brothers f****d up and tried to leave before their time. But really, they’re still in, as soon as they recover. And until they do, she’s the main event.” I glanced between the guys and could see Nix pointing at me. “We’re not f*****g giving her over like that. It wasn’t part of the deal.” Dallas’ deep voice makes me tremble where I stand. What the hell is going on? Nix laughs again. “I don’t understand, gentlemen. You’ve held up your end of the deal. The four of you are free.” His words turn my blood ice cold. They traded me for their freedom from him? How as I so blind to this? “That wasn’t the deal!” Bentley yells, I can see his fists balled up and I take a step back from them. I can’t even process my emotions right now. “How could you?” I ask, my voice is so soft I’m not sure any of them hear me, but oh boy do they. Matthew is the first one to turn around, his eyes wide and his head is shaking from side to side. As if to tell me I don’t understand. None of them speak for a moment and then I take another step back. Dallas moves towards me and I shake my head, holding out my hand. “ How could you?” I repeated, stronger than last time. I needed to know why they betrayed me. It felt like a knife was stabbing me repeatedly in the heart. “It wasn’t supposed to be like this.” Dallas says softly, his eyes dipping to the ground. “One fight, that’s all it was supposed to be. It would free your brothers from their bond to Nix and everything would be find before graduation.” I looked at each one of them. I didn’t even know them anymore. “And now I’m his, aren’t I? There’s no getting away from it because I’m the better fighter.” It wasn’t even a question and the way they all avoided my eyes, I had my answer. I fought back the tears and took a step towards the four of them. “f**k. You. All of you. “ I managed to say before moving around them and looking Nix in the eyes. “I fight for you, my brothers get set free from all of this?” At this point I wasn’t really asking this either. The older man thought about it for a minute and then nodded. “We’ll only need one Martain if it’s you.” He says with a wicked smile. I nod at his answer. “Give me two weeks and I’m yours. “ The older man nods and turns to leave. I have two weeks to get my s**t together. I f*****g sold my soul to the devil tonight. Turning to my brothers best friends, I just stare at them. I once felt love and attraction to them. Now I’m just dead inside. They did this to me,I’d never forgive them. None of them. “I loved you. Maybe it was a foolish school girl crush, but I loved every single one of you. I never want to see any of you again.” I said, taking a deep. That f*****g hurt to say, more than I thought it would. Dallas steps forward and I shake my head. “Sail, “ He starts but I hold up my hand and look him dead in the eye. “I. Loved. You. “ I repeat and close my eyes for a moment. “You’ve ripped out my heart and stomped on it. “ I take a shaky breath and open my eyes. “You’re all dead to me.” I left them there in the middle of the ring with those words. I’ve never hated anyone in my entire sixteen years, but I did today. I hated the four of them with my entire body and soul.
