The attack had only lasted a few seconds. Everyone stood frozen, not truly believing what they had just seen. The alien female had moved so fast and with no hesitation. Showing no mercy. The other alien survivors stood behind her ready to take on whatever came at them. Every one of them looked lethal. Even the smaller female.
Glacian was the first to move. “Gyo. Terra. Take Kittra to Balkan. You are not to release her until she is in Balkan’s custody. Make sure he is aware that she attempted to harm my future queen."
“Yes, Sire,” they replied in unison. Both guards bent and each took an arm of the dragon female who was beginning to moan as she came back to consciousness.
“Take her in one of the mobile units. Instead of enjoying a nice flight she can spend it in an uncomfortable holding cell,” he practically growled through his teeth.
Gyo pulled restraints from a pocket at his back and shackled Kittra’s hands behind her, affectively keeping her from shifting. As she began kicking and screaming threats at everyone present that refused to obey her, the two guards hauled her out through one of the doors beneath the staircase.
Turning back to the survivors, Glacian saw that they looked relaxed but were poised to strike if needed. They were a cohesive unit, and he couldn’t help but admire that. Each of the four lower ranked officers were taking their cues from Kiera. And that was exactly what they were. Part of some kind of military on their world. He wondered what kind of training they had to make them so fluent together.
“How did you do that?” Rokk exclaimed. There was complete awe and respect in his tone.
The tension in Kiera’s face loosened slightly at his eager tone. “We are trained in many things. Our leaders wouldn’t have sent us out if we were unable to defend ourselves.”
Looking at Glacian, he had an unreadable expression. She supposed he was now rethinking the whole queen situation. A smirk slipped out before she could stop it. She had just proven that she could take down an opponent larger than her. Easily. A lot of men couldn’t handle having a woman that was smarter, faster or more lethal than they were. Kiera was positive that she was all those things. Glacian didn’t seem the type to be open-minded enough to make changes, even if they were for the better. Mentally she shrugged it off. Adapting and adjusting to any given situation was something she had always excelled at. She had done it as a child and again when she was sixteen. This would be no different. If there was a small pang of hurt at the thought that he would reject her, she ignored it.
“Come,” Glacian gestured to a set of large doors. His face was just as stoic as before while he had been dealing with Kittra. “We will get you settled. Then we will talk.” He led the way. When the doors opened it was a large box-shaped room. They all filed in feeling it was safe as the king was in with them and the doors closed behind them. “Fifth floor,” Glacian spoke clearly.
When the box began to rise the five of them understood.
“They have elevators,” Mikhail said in Russian.
“What did he say?” Rokk asked curiously. Glacian’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
“It’s habit. We are used to each speaking our native language.” Kiera explained. Again.
“My apologies,” Mikhail stated. “I was simply commenting on the lift. It is rather larger than what we have seen before though.”
“Ah,” Rokk murmured. “We have several lifts. You will see the others on the tour later. We made them large due to sometimes having large cargo that needs to go from floor to floor. And the occasional dragon that refuses to shift.”
The lift drew to a stop and the doors opened onto a hallway much like the foyer had been. The only difference was that where the foyer walls were green, this floor had blue walls. There were paintings depicting dragons in various stages, as well as statues and flowers. Numerous doors lined the hallway. Rokk stopped in front of one and opened it. “Mikhail, this will be yours. In an hour I will come to get you for a meeting so we can get to know each other better.”
Mikhail gave the group a hand signal before stepping into the room and going to explore. It was the signal they had always used when being separated. Basically, it meant to stay vigilant and be safe. They had several signals that would alert the others if there was trouble and couldn’t shout out. The others gave the same signal once given their room. They were nearing the end of the hallway and Rokk opened the second to last door.
“Kiera, my Queen, I will return in an hour.” Bowing, he turned and left.
Kiera shook her head at how he kept addressing her and stepped into her room. She would need to remember to speak with him about that later.
Before she could get a good look at anything, the door shut behind her, her bag was ripped from her back, and she was pressed up against the door. Looking up, she opened her mouth to blast whoever was manhandling her when a mouth descended on hers and she forgot everything.
The second Glacian’s lips crushed hers, something inside Kiera woke up. The connection in her chest that had burned when they first met heated to an inferno and spread throughout her entire body. His hands came up under her thighs and lifted so that she fit more snugly against him. Her legs wrapped tightly around his waist as though it was where they were meant to be. He pressed his entire length against her, pinning her to the wall while he devoured her mouth. Both of them were groaning and moaning at the full body contact.
A small part of Kiera couldn’t believe this was happening. She didn’t know this man and she was not in the habit of letting people she didn’t know close to her, much less kiss her. A new part of her couldn’t get enough of him. The feel of him against her just felt right. His smell was so intoxicating it was almost a drug. She kissed him back, just as lost as he was. His tongue explored every part of her mouth just as his hands learned her body. Hers weren’t exactly still. Her hands took in his muscled arms and the wide breadth of his chest.
His heart under her hand beat at the same fast rhythm as her own. It was steady, strong and reassuring. Her fingers slid up the thick column of his throat and then around his neck so she could bury them in his hair. The texture was different from hers and the softness of it added to the sensations swamping her system.
He groaned again as her nails lightly scraped his scalp. Rocking his hips against her, he deepened the kiss even further, and it was her turn to moan. Kiera knew that her body was starved for contact. She had kept her distance from everyone since she was sixteen. Now the assault on her system was giving her something that she had craved but been too terrified to let happen.
Her body heated further as his mouth moved from hers and strayed down to her throat to kiss and suck on the soft part where her neck and shoulder met. The scrap of his teeth had her bucking her hips to meet each thrust of his. The friction of their clothes only added to the sensations overwhelming her. His large hands stroked her from knee to neck. It was almost like he wanted to make sure he didn’t miss a single thing about her. He explored every dip and curve, lingering over the areas that made her moan and writhe. She was lost and they were still fully dressed. She would be completely lost if it ever went any further.
“That was the hottest thing I have ever seen,” he rasped as his teeth grazed her neck again.
“What?” she asked breathlessly. He wanted to talk? Her brain had already short circuited. She had no idea what he was talking about. That was bad, right? She should always be aware of what was going on around her.
“When you took Kittra down,” he explained. “It was all I could do to keep my dragon from pouncing on you right there in front of everyone.”
Kiera moaned again as his hands slowly slid underneath her shirt and paused just below her breasts.
“Glacian,” she desperately tried to get herself under control. She couldn’t seem to get enough air. Between her panting breaths and him smashing her against the wall, there just wasn’t enough of it.
He squinted his eyes shut and ground his teeth. It looked like he was in pain. “Kiera. I cannot…”
Before she could register what he was trying to say, she felt his fangs sink into her shoulder. She gasped as the fiery pain lanced through her. She’d had wounds before. Bad ones. But this was different. She felt his teeth sinking into her. The pain was gone as fast as it started. A pulsing pleasure rocketed through her system, throwing her over the edge into an o.rgasm like none she had ever felt. She arched into him, unable to control her body as she rode the sweet sensation out. Every pulse, every clench around emptiness had her grinding herself against him to try and make the sensation last.
Slowly coming out of her daze, Kiera became aware of Glacian licking and sucking at the mark he had left on her. He was still breathing heavily but seemed to be getting a little control back as well. It was almost as though marking her had eased his dragon somehow. But he had bit her. He seriously bit her. She had heard of some partners biting each other when the s.ex was intense but he had drawn blood.
“I was wrong,” he stated sagely, grinning as she tried to look at the mark he had left on her. There were two puncture marks from his fangs and indentions from his other teeth in between. “Watching you fall apart for me was the hottest thing I have ever seen. Are you always that responsive?” His eyes finally met hers and his hands still roamed her body as if he just couldn’t help himself.
“You bit me,” she said, ignoring his question. That seemed to be all she could focus on.
He nodded. Bending his head, he lapped at his mark again with his tongue. The feeling of it sent a shiver down her spine. Somehow, that bite mark intensified the sensations in her chest. “It is the mating mark. I tried to resist, to give us more time, but my dragon took over. He wants his mate. He also wanted to make sure every other male knows that you are ours.”
