Days quickly passed, and the subtle treatment between Max and Charlene had loosened up. They occasionally talked but not as open as before. Charlene seemed to be more distant from Max, whereas Max tried his best to reach out to her. She was too stubborn to acknowledge it, and she just wanted to forget that it happened by ignoring it.
Charlene had never seen Caroline coming back to his office, but she knew Max was still meeting her. She found out about it from Damien when he kind of mentioned that he, Max, Caroline’s sister, hung-out over the weekend.
Charlene showed no care about it since she always believed it was out of her job and business.
The HR department was able to find a temporary secretary for Max, but she won't be starting next week, so in the meantime, Charlene handled Max
