The two enjoyed the quietness once more until they decided to go back to the mansion. The temperature started to change, and they didn’t wear any thick clothes to protect them from cold.
Max was guiding Charlene getting down the big rock when she accidentally slipped from it,
“s**t!” Charlene shrieked in shock,
Lucky her, Max was quick enough to catch her on time and saved her ass from bruises. Max held Charlene as she landed on his arms unharmed,
“You okay?” Max worriedly asked while his face almost touched hers before heaving a deep breath of relief as he looked at her.
Charlene was petrified as she saw Max’s face nudged closer to her. His warm minty breath puffed on her cheeks.
“I…I’m fine…” Charlene stuttered, intently looking at Max.
