" she said what. " Ken asked his best friend who looked like he was frustrated with everything too.
" she wants you to meet her before she will decide either to agree or not. " Jared said as he uses his hand to past through hid already messy hair. With the state the hair is in, It is clear that he had already done multiple times.
" she seems stubborn. "
" she is stubborn. " Jared growls " and pretty, so pretty. Her eyes were amazing especially when she is arguing a point. "
Ken paused and look at his best friend, he had only heard Jared talk like this about a female but that was a while ago and although Ken pushed him to say something to her he refused and when he finally got the courage to say something to the lady, the lady told him that she had like him for a while and had finally given up on hoping that anything will ever be between them, she told her father that she wants to get married and she was already betrothed to her suitor and and she can not bring disgrace to her family by breaking the engagement.
For a long time, Jared moped around and acting like he lost his soul mate because he wasn't fast enough to act. Ken had really been worried for his friend during those times and then one day, Jared just snapped out of it and acted like nothing happened. Not that Ken had anything wrong with a performing Jared but those days were brutal on him as he watch his best friend fall to pieces unable to do anything about it.
" are you sure you don't like this girl. "Ken asked Jared again for the fifth time. Since Jared started talking about her he was practically glowing as if he was talking about the woman who has his heart and not the woman his best friend sent him to find.
Ken needs to ask to be sure. He didn't want to see Jared at his lowest ever again.
Jared rolled his eyes at Ken question. " I am pretty sure I would know when I like a girl. Trust me when I say that I see her as a sister. She is the prefect match for you brother. "
" prefect fake match. " Ken mumbled but Jared just chuckles.
" it might start that way but believe me when I say that you might end up falling in love with her. " Jared wags a finger at Ken face.
" no I won't. I will not fall for her. I am trying to use her to get my freedom not to bind it. "
" don't discredit her before you see her. She is prefect for the job so I say that you should take the risk and meet up with her. "
" did you fix the meeting place and time. "
" of course I did. " Jared said sounding a little bit insulted like his friend just doubted his capability to do a great job.
Ken hearing the offense in Jared tone put out his hand to show that he didn't want to doubt Jared. " no need to go all drama queen on me Jared, I just wanted to ask you about it. "
" tonight. She is only free in the weekends, so she came to the capital with me. "
" good. So we need to distract the guards and... " Ken started Jared stopped at Jared grin.
" done. Jasmine will take care of it and your secret meetings with her if she agrees throughout the week is also taken care of. "
Jared grin made Ken suspicious . " what did you tell her. "
" just that Fallon is making you crazy so you decided to spend every evening with your beloved so as to keep you sane. "
" why will you tell Jasmine that. "
" because Jasmine will tell mother and mother will tell the queen and I don't have to see that guilty look on your face everytime you lie to her. Also you need to be seeing Annabelle always, it would be suspicious if you don't and Jasmine can vouch that you have been sneaking out to see her. Now you have the prefect proof of months of relationship. " Jared said.
" still what if we don't agree. "
" you will. If you don't agree with her I will be there as a chaperone to hit you and correct you whenever you are annoying her. " Jared grinned as if he just solved a riddle that has been causing Ken problems for years.
" why do I feel like you will take her side over mine. " Ken asked eyeing his friend.
" because I will. " Jared said and when Ken opened his mouth to complain he added " don't worry you will understand when you see her. "

When he saw staring at her eyes much later he did understand. She was danger to his plans because from the minute he laid his eyes in her he could easily see his self with her when he was grey and old and although that should freak him, he was filled with a warm buzz which left him in a contented state.
Apparently all she wanted to do with him was to see him before she agrees. When Jared asks her why, she said that she could not pretend to be in love with somebody who was full of himself all the time. Anyways Ken was happy to let Jared take control of the conversation with her, the p*****t and rules and everything. He only listened with half an ear as his attention was completely focus on her. The words from her mouth made him want to close his eyes and savour her voice but if he closes his eyes he won't see her eyes which were like honeyflecks.
" I am not so sure of that idea. " she mumbled and that brought him out of his state. No, she has to be sure of everything. He didn't want to lose her.
" what's not to be sure about. You get a lot of wealth but you just have to leave this kingdom. You could be an elite in another kingdom. "
" you are asking me to leave my roots. " she said and her eyes flashed. Now Ken knew that he will always try to anger her so that he could see that flash in her
eyes.
" if you stay here, your roots won't matter anymore. You know that. " Jared said and she close her eyes but not quickly enough not to see the flash of pain there. All of a sudden he wanted to hit his friend for causing her pain.
" fine I will do it. " Annabell said resigned and with that Jared and Ken whisk her off into a fairy tale that will end happily for every one but her.
