Fallon knew that she shouldn't be in this part of the castle, especially when the council are in session but then, she didn't really have a choice, if she had stayed in her chambers she would have gotten sick with worrying herself.

She needed to know what the council have in mind for her because she refused to just remain here while they rule in favour of the prince and that sickly plain girl.

She would not deny the fact that the girl has the ability to be loved wherever she went, her plain looks made it that way but still Fallon knew that was a lie. She was perfect even in her plainness.

Annabelle had brown hair with brown eyes and those features are mundane because it is seen everyday yet the girl seem to made do with what she had. Her hair sparkled with life and Fallon grudgingly admits that if her hair was a lighter color, everybody would have noticed. Her eyes sparkle, she had never seen anything like it before.

Annabelle was the type of person that you glance at then remove your eyes from when she enters the room because of her chracteristics, yet when you get to know her, she somehow manages to imprint herself on your memories.

If only she had not gone after the prince, maybe Fallon would have honoured her and offered to be her friend but now, they cannot be anything other than enemies. Sure Annabelle think that she owns Ken heart so that means that she own Ken but Fallon knew better. As a member of the royal family. There are always two things involve. You as a person and you as a ruler, Annabelle might have gotten Ken wrapped around her fingers but still his duties will prevent him from doing anything about it.

The council will not chose someone who is lacking to be their new princess, okay so maybe Annabelle is not lacking but for her competition to be a princess it means that she is lacking.

She tiptoed to the door of the chambers where the council seemed to be holding their meetings, when she heard their voices talking, she knew that she couldn't go any further because they will hear any noise she makes and she will get sanctioned for it

Fallon knew that she could not the use the old lie of saying that she was not aware because she was a princess and had grown up with these types of rules in place at her home.

" no, it isn't possible for us to accept that lady. " a councilor said out loud, his voice shaking with anger.

" we don't judge based on the family that someone come from. " the king protected Annabelle weakly. He was still feeling shocked when he discovered that her father was the minister who was so corrupted and unfit for his position that he had to strip her father from his position and he was the first person that was stripped from his position in ten years.

Doubt entered the king mind. Could it be that Annabelle collected some if those traits from her father. No, he cannot start thinking this way, his son and his wife will never forgive him if they knew exactly what he is thinking of. Come to think of it, if the council refuse to allow the prince to marry Annabelle, they couldn't force him into a relationship with Fallon, not to talk of marriage.

Ken might hate him any way for not fighting for his relationship with Annabelle but he was not sure he can do that after he heard about her father.

What is he thinking. Ken will certainly hate him, the boy was in love with Annabelle and he wouldn't care if her father put the whole world in bondage.

When another councilor started to talk, the king started to pay attention once again as he pulled himself out of his head.

" your Majesty we know that we are not suppose to judge based on character of the family but what would you have us do when it affect the queen. The girl is a scholar, she went against the commands of the kingdom that no woman should work and became a tutor. She may have it in her head that the king and queen rule together. If she becomes queen, we would have to take orders from her. A woman. " the councilor said his face going more tensed he thought about it.

" all this could just be worry on your part, what if she isn't like that. She is a sweet girl. If you spend time in her company you get to love her. " the king defended Annabelle although he is with them in their arguments but he wouldn't show it. He would go against protecting his son interests if he does.

" and it could be that it is just a fake character she displays to get herself liked by others. We cannot allow her to be queen. " another councilor said softly.

The king heart pounded in his chest, the last councilor who just spoke was known for his great wisdom and when he talks, people listen. He just went against Annabelle and he had been quiet since the beginning of the meeting. Then again, he is mostly quiet for the meeting and only talk when he feels the issue is pressing.

" Prince Kendall is in love with her. " the king said with a tortured look on his face. " he would not lose her. "

The room burst into chaos as everybody started talking at once. When the king calls for order had been obeyed. The chief councilor spoke up.

" the best way to go about this is to tell the prince that he can have her as his concubine but only of he marries Fallon. "

The king exploded at that. " it is wrong to saddle two women to a man at the same time. The time for concubines had past and when it was those times it was the choice of the king not the councilors. "

" we are sorry your majesty for taking that decision out if your hands but the only way that we would allow Annabelle to stay is if she is a concubine and the prince cannot have a concubine unless he is married. " another councilor said.

" it is wrong, to the prince and to the two women. One will have the position of queen and the other will have the heart of the future king. That is dividing the king into two person. " the wise councilor said with disapproval etched deeply in his face.

" it is the only option. " the king realised as a tortured look crossed his eyes but when he blinked a mask of indifference reflected out from his eyes hiding his true feelings. " what do you think Anthony. " the king asked Jared father who had been quiet.

" my son have been talking non stop about her even my daughter seems interested in having her as a friend. " the rest of the council chuckled at that. Everybody knows that Jasmine only spend time with males. She is like a second son to Anthony. The one interested in strategies while his son is interested in brutal force.

Anthony continues after the chuckles then whispers which started when they realised that he was not joking died down. " she seems like a pleasant girl but because of her heritage she cannot become a queen but your idea to make the prince marry Fallon who he hates by the way is underhanded and I refused to use such methods. So as far as the issue go, I vote for neither, she cannot be queen but prince Kendall cannot be saddled with two women at once. "

" I also go with that option. " the wise councilor said but the rest voted for the second option. Marry Fallon and make Annabelle a concubine.

The king sighed unhappily. There were hard days ahead...

Mean while when Fallon heard the conclusion she smiled to her self. She gets to be queen but Annabelle won't remain in the palace for much longer. She might be thick skinned about the comments people say to her and about her but she won't be able to resist breaking down when a new rumour goes up of course that Fallon had won Ken hand in marriage but she is still pathetic to stick around. She knows who exactly will be starting that rumour. Fallon thought with a smile as she quickly escapes before the councilors comes out from the meeting.

Annabelle next days are about to get unbearable in the palace.
