Colby waited outside while the doctor and nurses attended to Tanya. About an hour later, the doctor came out and shook his head. Seeing the doctor's reaction, Colby almost felt his heart stop. He pushed the doctor out of the way and hurried into the room.
When he entered the room, he saw three nurses standing by Tanya's side and there were many tubes connected to her mouth and head. He closed his eyes and stood there for a long time and when he opened them, he kept staring at Tanya until all the nurses left them.
He went to her bedside and held her hands, her eyes were closed but she was still breathing. He tried to control his emotions as he became teary-eyed. After staring at her for almost an hour, he said, "please forgive me, Tanya."
