Chapter 3: Weaponry

"I can tell what he is thinking... Don't destroy the school... But I can use magic how I like now... So..." thinks Dusk and then says:

"Death Spear!"

"What the-?" all the students are astonished.

"This is..." mutters Aiko

"That is... Pure Dark Magic?"

 Power Scaling: 12653 Units

"So you learned to control that... Good for you..." says the principal with a silent voice.

"Ah s**t, here we go again!" says Hikari

--- After the representation of power Dusk made, both the magic and the normal class students were at a loss for words, fully shocked.

 Looking around and seeing their astonished faces, Dusk muttered: "Hmm? I think I overdid it..."

"Dark magic, huh? A rare and powerful type of magic that you don't see very often..." says Kubo

 Dusk just looks at Kubo without saying anything.

"How did you get a null score at the practical entrance exam, then...?" asks Kubo, looking pissed.

"I wasn't feeling good on that day from what I remember," says Dusk

"Feeling sick, huh? I am the one who is feeling sick... Sick about this situation! Is this some sort of joke to you? We are all here, sacrificing our lives to save the world, and yet..." says Kubo with a very angry expression, approaching Dusk

 Hearing these words, everyone fell silent. They could only look at how Kubo was approaching Dusk, angrier than ever. Not even the teacher could stop him...

 Getting closer, Kubo asks once again:

"Why are you even here for?"

 Dusk didn't take his time and instantly answered this question.

"The same reason we are all here... To cure the corrupted. I want them to live normally again as they used to many years ago..."

 Kubo could only stare into Dusk's eyes, and then clenching his teeth, straightforwardly told Dusk: 

"Cure them...? If you think that's why we enrolled into the army, then you are god damn wrong!" 

 And then, without giving anyone any more thinking time, he continued with his argument:

"Our homes, our territory, our loved ones... We lost them all because of the corrupted! Who wants to cure them...? I... No, WE want to eliminate them!"

 Dusk's expression faded... He looked down to the ground, and with a calm voice said:

"That's just your perspective... They were humans like us after all."

"Those monsters are not humans! They don't deserve any nice treatment!" shouted Kubo

 Hearing this affirmation once again, Dusk's expression becomes sadder, as he lowers his view once again... However, one voice interrupts the discussion, approaching the two students.

"That was a nice score, Dusk! I am really proud of you! I bet this crybaby over there is just jealous of your score..." said Hikari that just barged into their discussion, patting Dusk's shoulder.

"Don't you dare speak over me, stupid normal class! These points are nothing, henceforth, I request a simulated battle with him to settle this!" shouts Kubo, angrier than ever before.

"I-I am sorry- But we are in the middle of a lesson!" shouted miss Aiko, but then, behind her appeared one imposing presence that interrupted her.

"Sure thing, this will be fun. And I wanted some entertainment since watching normal class students dying from some push-ups it's not fun... Actually, it's rather sad. I also wanted to request some simulated battles since we have a common lesson," said the principal with a huge smile on his face.

"Let me guess... You want them to fight us 1 vs 1?" asks Hikari

"As sharp as ever, Hikari..." says the principal

"Then, not Dusk will be the one fighting him, but me!" says Hikari with a very confident look and tone.

"I don't want to fight a stupid normal class... I want to fight that airhead!" shouted Kubo

"If you are scared that a "stupid normal class student" will beat you, just say it already... Geez..." said Hikari with a sarcastic tone.

"So, come on... If you are that good, I won't be a challenge for you!" continued Hikari

"Tch, alright... But after I bury your confidence two metres underground, I am going for Dusk..." says Kubo

 The principal gives his approval, thus preparing the fights between the two classes. Mizuki was intently looking at Dusk with a worried face, seeing his sad expression.

"So, let the fight between, Hikari Ianku and Kubo Yuuji begin... Weapons are allowed!" shouts the principal.

"W-Weapons?!" shouted Dusk

 Hikari draws something from his belt. It looked like the handle of something, but then, from one of its ends, a light started coming outside. It quickly turned into something that looked like...

"A lightsaber?!" shouted Dusk

"What is that stick supposed to do against me?" says Kubo with a large smile on his face.

"Start the fight!" shouted the principal again, and then... Something unbelievable happened.

"That moment... I think I blinked at the wrong time, but that guy... Hikari Ianku was already with his sword at Kubo's neck..." thought Mizuki that watched the outcome of the fight with astonishment. 

"W-What the-?!?" shouted Kubo with a frightened look on his face.

"That speed...!" all the normal class students were impressed by Hikari's power showcase.

"Winner, Hikari! Good job... I would like to say that to both of you..." says the principal with a proud expression.

 While Hikari slowly went back towards his class's place, Kubo draws something out from his belt... It was a magic knife. Just after that, he launches an attack straight towards Hikari...

 But then, with a quick reaction, Dusk cast a spell that completely immobilized Kubo on the spot.

Hikari seemed to know that this would happen, so he didn't react in the slightest.

"What would you have done if I wasn't here?" asks Dusk

"Hmm? What do you mean? I knew you would do that," said Hikari

"How is he doing that...?" thinks Dusk

 After all the matches end, the score is 19 for the magic class and 1 for the normal class, a point that was won by Hikari.

"After I saw Hikari's fight, I am kind of disappointed by the rest..." thinks Dusk

"Good matches everyone, but now, go back to your classes for your last lesson of the day!" said the principal at the end of the practical lessons.

 In the class, every single student from the normal class was at Hikari's desk talking about how awesome his victory was... But of course, he didn't hear them because he was sleeping as always.

 After the rest of the lessons were done, Dusk and Hikari met once again in their room.

"Yo!" said Hikari

"How did you get here so early? I was at your class, you know?" says Dusk

"Well, I got tired of sleeping so I thought I will skip the last lesson..." said Hikari

"So you didn't joke about sleeping in class..." said Dusk

 Then Dusk remembers Hikari's battle with Kubo and reminds him of the weapons he used...

"Oh yeah, by the way, where did you get that lightsaber?" asked Dusk

"This "stick"? It is made on command at the weaponry... It was written in the school program paper. You didn't read it, didn't you?" asked Hikari

"Now that I think of it..." and then, Dusk remembers that he was reading the program paper when he first saw Hikari in the room, but he got scared and didn't read all of it...

"Then, let's get your weapon! The first one is free, so you can customize it as you wish!" says Hikari full of enthusiasm.

 While at the weaponry, the two of them meet with some familiar faces. Mizuki and Tohka...

"Hey, Dusk! You came here to get your weapon too?" asks Mizuki

"Umm, yes..." 

"You two know each other?" asks Tohka

"Yeah... I mean, we are classmates..." said Dusk

 Then out of nowhere, Hikari drags Dusk into a corner and whispers to him:

"You just got here two days ago, and already two girls?!"

"Don't be stupid... Are you jealous or something?" 

 But their small chatter got interrupted when one of the girls approached them and asked:

"You are Hikari Ianku, right? The one who defeated Kubo..." asks Mizuki

"Maybe..." says Hikari with an awkward tone, quickly continuing with: "Wait, do you want revenge for your classmate? Sorry but if he wants a rematch he needs to come here personally!"

"Oh, no! I don't want revenge or anything like that! I honestly don't care who wins, I think you did really good!" said Mizuki

"Well, thanks... Wait, where did Dusk go?" asks Hikari worried.

 But while Hikari and Mizuki were talking, Dusk and Tohka wandered off looking for weapons and already chose something.

"What?! He didn't even ask for my opinion! That guy..." says Hikari

"I like this one. I will customize it and then I am ready!" says Tohka

"And your weapon is...?" asks Dusk

"Oh, it's not that cool... It's a simple katana with some fire magic inside. I can combine it with my Ice magic and create blue flames. That is my signature..." says Tohka

"And you're saying that isn't cool..." says Dusk

 After waiting for a while, the weapons were finally ready... Dusk and Tohka approached Hikari and Mizuki after just taking their weapons back.

"Done now? Show me your weapon!" says Hikari

"Hmm? No, I don't want to show it to you... Why would I let my rival know my weapon?" says Paul while smiling at Hikari

"R-Rival? Okay then, we are rivals! Looking forward to our first battle!" says Hikari, also smiling to Dusk.
