“s**t!” I thought as I closed the door to the room I now shared with Fintan.
As I stood frozen in the hallway, unsure of what to do, I felt a tightness in my chest and churning in my stomach. My muscles were tense, my heart started beating faster, and my palms were sweaty. Those were the effects of the anger building up inside of me, though I couldn’t tell if it was my own or Havelock’s.
“I told you to stop fooling around when we met our mate!” The ravenous wolf growled. “And because we didn’t mark them yet, I don’t even know if Dakota is mad at me as well! She could be thinking I had something to do with this!”
“What’s done is done!” I barked at him. “If you won’t help me think of a way to fix this, at least stay quiet!” He frowned, but eventually retreated to the back of my head.
