His exiled assassin mate

Prologue

 Finally she has him alone, with no one close to save him. He trusts her… how stupid of him.

 “Raya”. The way he says her name, so softly… so lovingly, brings pain to her stomach and chest. But she won’t let him play her for a fool, she is no fool, not anymore. But he is still what he always was; A liar.

 He had gotten what he wanted and then he had sold her out and betrayed her. And she was innocent, but no one cared. They just wanted retribution, not caring who they hurt, but they will all pay… and his time to compensate for what he did has come.

 “I am happy you came back”. He says softly, leaning in to kiss her.

 “So am I”. She mumbles. “So… happy”.

 But before his lips can touch hers, she kicks his legs from under him, making him fall to his knees, her long slim blade presses to his throat. “So happy I get to see the life leave your eyes”.

 He looks up at her, his hazel eyes sad. “I am not gonna fight you Raya, but there are three things you need to know before you kill me”.

 “What ?” She knows she should just end him, but… even without her wolf she can still feel that treacherous bond, and it makes her hesitate.

 “Firstly, I love you Raya… I always have, as long as I remember and I did not betray you”. His voice is soft, like he believes it himself. “And secondly… killing me, or anyone else won’t heal your pain… but if you think you need to do it, know I forgive you”.

 She presses the knife harder to his throat, feeling her stupid eyes burn. “And third… you said three things”.

 His eyes catch hers. “And the third thing… I have your…”.
