Imprinted

"Why didn't you let me go, Castor?" Finally, and with difficulty catching my breath after our passionate kiss, I was able to ask him. I can even say his name fluently. I felt the wetness on every surface of my lips that I had truly enjoyed earlier. I lifted my face to stare at Castor's visuals, which had me in a trance. I saw the yellow glow again from his irises. I clearly saw the reflection of my face in his eyes. I blinked a few times to be able to trust my own sight. "I won't, because I'm sure you'll like it after this." I regained my consciousness after hearing his words. I didn't like the words that implied he knew everything about me. I pushed his body away from me. "You rejected me?" "Yes. I have no more business in this place, Mr. Melluci." I said it smoothly, and I didn't care if he got angry. I had to go home immediately so that I wouldn't sleep outside. If that happened, I wouldn't be able to work tomorrow because my entire body would be targeted by blood-sucking insects. Castor released his hold on me, but his face remained a faint grin. I organized my things and myself once more. Making sure nothing was left behind, I turned around to notice Castor still where he was. And sure enough, he remained where he stood still with all the charm that tempted me not to move away from him. Damn it! I hated myself. Shaking off those thoughts, I will use this opportunity to leave this apartment. "See you soon, Godiva." "He even said goodbye; I can't believe it," I snorted as I walked out. * Castor PoV, I let her go just to be able to get her back. I quickly grabbed my cell phone to contact Pippo, one of my warriors, to follow Godiva. I could see the bruise on her wrist, and it made me uneasy. "Did she get injured at work?" I muttered. From the information I had gotten, Godiva only worked at a pizzeria and lived with her aunt's family. The two places were 8 miles apart in territory, and it was not our pack's territory, so I could not monitor her intensely from the first time I saw her. Luckily, I know the Alpha of the pack entrenched in the area, so Pippo should be able to pass through their territory safely, just for tonight. After giving orders to Pippo, I sat on the edge of the bed. I picked up the blanket that Godiva had used earlier. Her scent pierced my nostrils and kept me intoxicated even when she left the room. Just like the meaning of her name, Godiva has become the gift that the Moon Goddess gave me. Had she been a she-wolf, perhaps this imprint would have brought us together tonight as well. I did not want to force her because I did not have the heart for her after I marked her earlier. I could still hold back my desire to be with her, at least for a few days. I've thought of many plans to do together with her. Moonstone Pack and Bruze City will be even stronger after we unite. My daydream faded away when my cell phone rang, displaying my brother's name on the screen. He had left earlier in the day to investigate the human corpses that were drying out from blood loss in the southern district of the city. After swiping the green icon on the screen, I asked, "Any clues?" I clenched my fists tightly when Pollux mentioned two small holes in the corpse's neck. It had been a hundred years since I'd heard my father discover the bloodsuckers in Bruze. For almost half an hour, I talked with my brother. I calmed down when Pollux said that he'd gotten a trace of the perpetrator. I immediately hung up the phone and looked once more at the thing that Pippo was calling me. I received his call and immediately asked, "Did she get home?" "There's a problem, Alpha. There was a small commotion at her house. I heard the sound of things breaking and the loud noise of things hitting the floor. Should I check it out?" "I'll be right there. If she comes out of her house, keep her at a safe distance until I arrive." I ran straight out of the apartment. I didn't care about the thunder that echoed in my ears when I got outside the apartment building. I changed direction to a narrow alley not far from the apartment and shifted myself into a wolf. I traced every dark path between the tall buildings and jumped against the wall when I found a building with a few floors. The sound of my claws digging into the wall almost made one of the residents of the small apartment I was passing by pop his head out of the window. Luckily, I had the speed and agility to run in my wolf form. "Hang in there, Godiva," I prayed. As I got closer to her house, I felt something tighten in my chest. I had never felt anything like this before. I shed tears, even though I clearly felt violent shaking. My throat was constricted even though I opened my jaw halfway to get oxygen into my lungs. When I saw that all the buildings were spaced wide apart, I felt even more sadness, which made my heart jolt. I was already in a sub-urban area in the northern part of Bruze. I smelled Godiva's body scent more strongly as I walked behind the hedges that framed the residential area. I finally saw the girl walking with slow steps, dragging her suitcase. I quickly shifted into my human form and made my way to Pippo's car, which was a few yards behind Godiva. Pippo did as I told him to guard Godiva while following her in the car. "Pippo, I borrowed your coat," I pleaded as I ambushed his car from the side. "Did you shift into wolf form to get here, Alpha Castor?" "Yes, hurry up. I don't want to be seen as a human with an exposed body like this." Pippo stopped the car and took off his coat to give it to me. I wrapped the black coat around my body and stepped away from his car. Steadying my heart, I continued my steps to catch up with Godiva. "Godiva, wait!" The girl stopped her steps. I took a few steps forward to check on her. I saw that her cheeks showed signs of redness. From her temple, I also saw an open wound that dripped blood onto her uniform shirt. I felt terrible seeing her in her trembling state. "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have let you go earlier. Your wound needs to be treated immediately. Allow me to treat it." "What are you talking about, Mr. Melucci?" "Please call me Castor. I'm not your master." I lowered my tone to make her accept my help. "All right. Castor. I don't know how you found me. I'm not in the mood to play guessing games with you either. I'm already very tired today, so I ask you not to interfere in my business." "Godiva, I beg you to let me do it. I will suffer a lot when you are like this." "Castor..." "Please, Godiva."
