SIXTEEN Chaise finished his breakfast, checked his tie in the hall mirror and left. He had everything he needed, no need to go back to his room. At least it wasn’t raining, so he took his time climbing a steep set of ancient steps towards the church. He paused to study the Norman exterior before strolling through the gardens and into the market town’s square. Already shoppers milled about, so he slipped between them, checked for the tail, and took a coffee in a nearby café. From his table, he had a good view of the estate agency on the far side of the square.
