Blue's invitation for a road trip caught me off guard. It was a dream I hadn't dared to entertain. But amidst my wishful thinking, reality crept in—I couldn't leave work for indulgence. The weight of responsibilities clouded my excitement.
"Is something wrong? Don't you want to come?" Blue's voice pierced through my turmoil.
"I do, but work..." My explanation trailed off, and I shook my head. It felt like a lost opportunity, a flicker of joy extinguished. The prospect of a road trip with Blue ignited a spark of longing, yet the shackles of responsibility tightened.
Blue's optimism cut through my hesitations. "It's possible. I'll ask Mom for permission," he asserted, his words dancing with hope. A glimmer of possibility flickered before me.
