Today has dragged on, leaving me exhausted and restless, even though the sun is still high in the sky. The graduation ceremony felt endless, each speech merging into the next, making it hard to concentrate on anything but the clock ticking away.
I spent the entire night poring our business books to ensure I was fully prepared for the upcoming quarter. The numbers and projections were overwhelming, but I was determined to leave no stone unturned.
Meanwhile, I couldn't help but notice that Alexa continues to appear uninvited, disrupting my focus at the most inconvenient times. This has become quite a distraction. I also plan to address the issue with the guards; their lax approach to security is concerning, as it seems they're granting too much access to Alexa and her two friends, Jane and Stephanie, which also exhausted me.
However, the following celebration provided a much-needed escape, allowing me to unwind and momentarily forget about the looming presence of Alexa. Lately, her behavior has grown increasingly irritating, with her incessant texts and constant need for attention weighing heavily on me.
It's as if every interaction we have pulls me further into a whirlpool of frustration. I can't shake the feeling that she's starting to entertain some dangerous ideas about our relationship, particularly the thought of positioning herself as Luna of this pack.
I sense it's time to take decisive action and end things once and for all before she can dream up any more plans that could complicate my life.
I settled into the festive atmosphere of the celebration, enjoying the camaraderie with my fellow pack members while absent-mindedly glancing around for Alexa.
Laughter and music filled the air, creating a warm and inviting ambiance, but exhaustion started to creep in after some time. My eyelids grew heavy, signaling that I needed a break. I made my way toward the pack house, hoping for a chance to recharge.
Just as I was about to enter the familiar threshold, I heard my name being called out. I turned to see Alexa approaching, a smirk plastered on her face. The sight of her instantly stirred a mix of irritation and curiosity within me. “What do you want, Alexa?” I shouted, my voice tinged with aggression, a little more forceful than I intended.
“Don’t be like that, baby!” she replied, her tone dripping with insincerity. “I just want to give you a gift.” The way she emphasized the word 'gift' only heightened my annoyance, making her voice even more annoying. I couldn’t shake the feeling that whatever she had in mind was more trouble than it was worth.
Alexa often expresses her affection through the little things she does, like her desire to share my bed on those quiet nights. However, on this particular occasion, I found myself in a different state of mind—my thoughts were preoccupied, and I wasn't in the mood for her typical displays of intimacy.
I ignored her and walked inside the house until I passed Mika, and Alexa grabbed a fistful of Mika's hair. "You are nothing but a worthless omega," Alexa hissed, her words dripping with disdain as she forcefully shoved Mika to the ground.
The impact echoed in the tense atmosphere, and I could no longer stand by and watch Alexa's relentless bullying. "Alexa, that's enough! Come to my room right now!" I shouted, my voice firm and unyielding, hoping to assert some authority over her unruly behavior.
As I stormed down the hallway, I could feel her footsteps closely following me, the weight of her defiance evident in each step. Finally, we reached my room, a sanctuary away from the chaos, where I intended to confront her.
Once inside, I turned to find Alexa glaring at me, her expression a mixture of defiance and irritation. I gestured for her to sit before me and watched as she plopped down, her silence heavy with unspoken anger. The tension hung in the air, and I knew this confrontation was long overdue.
"Your bullying behavior, both now and in the past, is simply unacceptable," I stated firmly, looking directly at Alexa. "You claim that you want to embody the role of Luna, but your actions tell a different story. A true Luna value and cares for our pack members with the same affection and protection a mother would show her child."
I could see the hurt flash across her eyes, but stood my ground. "You need to understand that leadership comes with responsibility, and it’s about lifting others, not tearing them down."
In response, Alexa's expression shifted; desperation crept into her voice. "Max, I can change. I can show you that I can be a real Luna if you give me a chance, baby,” she pleaded, her tone tinged with sincerity. I took a deep breath, unsure how to respond to her request, but the weight of her past actions lingered heavily between us.
"Your days as my girlfriend are officially over," I declared firmly, my voice echoing in the room's stillness. The air was tense as I watched Alexa's expression shift from confusion to disbelief. "No more access to the leader's floors and no more showing up unannounced," I added, trying to convey the finality of my decision.
"But I'm your girlfriend!" she protested, her voice rising with desperation. "I should be the Luna of this pack!" Her eyes glistened with unshed tears, and I could see the hurt etched on her features.
I took a step closer, my resolve unwavering. "Alexa, you were never meant to be the Luna. I clarified that our arrangement would end once I find my true mate. That's how it was always supposed to be," I said, my tone steady yet compassionate, hoping to make her understand the weight of my words.
"You think you can just end this? I won't let you!" she shot back, her voice trembling with emotion.
"You need to go," I acknowledged, softening my voice slightly. "But this is for the best. It would help if you heard me. I won’t change my mind about this.” At that moment, the truth hung between us like a heavy fog.
"You are going to regret this," she retorted, anger and sadness intertwining in her voice. With that, she turned sharply on her heel and stormed out of my room, her footsteps echoing down the hallway, leaving me in a profound silence.
Finally, I can enjoy some much-needed peace of mind without constant interruptions from Alexa. It's refreshing to break from her relentless chatter and behavior. Hopefully, Alexa won't interfere with me and my future Luna once I find my mate.
