Chapter 3“I need a moment,” Selati panted. On their second full day of travel, his whole side twinged with the smallest motions. Proper undulation was almost impossible, his hip in no condition to support the movement, and inching along like he was an earthworm had scuffed his pale scute scales razor thin. What was he thinking to make this trip while injured? “Stop!” The line stuttered to a halt on Aleledai’s shout. The leader had decided from the start to stay by Selati. Now Selati saw why.
