Ruth feels her knees go weak with fear.
She has never fancied running into anything that she considers out of the ordinary because she gets scared out of her wits. She is not like Lucea, who would no doubt immediately start interrogating the dragon if she were here, as though they were old friends. She screams and, noticing how scared she is, Sebastian pulls her close to him, assuring her that she is in no danger before turning to face the dragon.
It is not as big as Ruth has been made to believe dragons should look like, (but then it looks like a crossbreed between a serpent and a dragon). Nevertheless, it is still big enough for her to wonder how it managed to fit through the small door to find itself in the entrance hall.
"What are you doing here?" Sebastian asks firmly.
