Upon being asked if she wants to hire a manny for the child, Ruth said she is perfectly capable of taking care of the baby on her own. She isn't comfortable about the idea of leaving Arianna,( as she has found out the baby's name is) in the care of some strange man.
"But you go to school," Adam says. "Who will be taking care of the child when you are at school?"
"I don't spend the whole day at school. Mr Siti will look after her today, then I am going to see what I can do after today. I wish to find someone, even a little girl, in the neighborhood, pay her to look after the baby during the hours i will be spending at school."
Adam looks alarmed at this idea. "And will she be living in this house?"
"No. She will be leaving as soon as I come back."
"Oh...I suppose..."
"Is it alright?"
